Dex was never anything near to STR and INT since release. I think only a good dex weapon would change that. The next weapon should be a dex one or devs really hate dex.
Lol dude these people saying dex is bad are just bad at the game. My friend uses bow/rapier and he gets into top 5 in every single opr… He gets #1 quite often as well… but sure its just sooo bad right? In duels dex builds dominate because of the mobility. A bruiser wont do shit to a dex build in a 1v1, especially if the dex player has a spear for stuns

its just aoe spam, poison and rain into pen shot in to large groups full of hp.
99% of the dmg is insta healed.
you cant single out anyone or stun anyone.
so you are doing nothing for the team but fluffing your own dmg for the rankings.
someone like you low lvl pvp player doesnt get that.
in duels really good bow light player can beat bruiser. just because no pots.
other then that even top mage with ice void can beat top bow light from range .

If they make it an “always crit” perk that’s GG.
Maybe it should just directly counter the grit perk where it’s an always-on effect that does 20% extra damage on enemies with active grit. Same way GA/WH have the grit perk in their trees, but can also get it from 300Str. Dex should have something similar.
Armour pen also sounds cool, but how would it be set? 50% or 100%. It would be quite dangerous on ranges if muskets can just tear through everyone from the hilltops, so maybe it should only affect melee attacks similar to the grit perk, but that would then make ranged lose benefit. It’s a tricky one.
Daggers. (Dex) + (Int/Foc) with crazy lifesteal.
We don’t know what they’ll be yet but I’m hoping mono dex. They also aren’t on the roadmap ![]()
not to mention the third attack animation in the light attack chain leaves you rooted for .75 seconds AFTER you swing your sword.
Yeah it could also just be mono since there are lots of weapons that can pair with it.
I think it will have skills from the Skelly and Angry Earth dagger wielders. The rush slash would be interesting if you can root someone with a trap and then go to town.
Hopefully they release another roadmap in September/October at 1 year anniversary.

As a mele dex I like the idea of passive armor pen, but at the same time hate the idea of muskets having it.
Not sure how to remedy this.
How about a passive heal reduction on crits, would fit the assassin architype and lean into dex being more anti healer.
Another idea would be a fat bleed.
I don’t really know what’s best, but I do know crit on roll is garbage and not worth even taking imo.
I think the armor pen is the best idea but you can have different values depending if you are using a range attack vs a melee attack. Like 20% pen if melee 10%pen if range. But even then not too sure if this would be necessary.
In regards to the musket the best set up for that is with an ele gem so only half the damage would even benefit from the armor pen.

And btw im going to be switching to dex now from mage. Ive already gotten a few bis pieces and its literally so much more fun than mage + just as strong + better for duels. Your aim is just garbage and you can only left click spam with a great axe let’s be honest here
this is actually a really good idea, better then passive armor pen(which I, as a filthy musket user, would love).
Call it ‘precision damage’ or something and have it apply an anti-heal that isn’t poison or disease so it can’t be neutralised immediately with purify or purifying toast. If this is applied as an ‘on hit’ it would scale up as you landed successive hits and so would not overtly favour muskets with our slow RoF. really good idea
EDIT: perhaps on hit rather then on crit? On crit would mean headshots would be even more powerful, and I’m assuming this would replace the guaranteed crit after a dodge?
damage on active grit is already a thing for spear.
having ran it with the black guard spear its nether here nore there.
also it stops working when you go against anyone not 300 str making it worthless again.
it should be armor pen.
and it should most likely be reduce enemy armor by 30% and adjust it accordingly as the con 200 is 20%
i dont care about muskets. it needs a full blow rework and this affects more builds than just that one.

the biggest issue is that the various ranges makes its seriously difficult to balance between all dex weapons.
if the muskets remove damage falloff perk was removed and properly balanced i think this whole rock sniping issue would be a thing of the past.
edit: all else fails just split crap to balance separately, melee dex gets the armor pen, the ranged get something else that functions for both musket and bow. (imho i think head shots causing staggers would be pretty funny but broken too) but realistically probably more along the lines of a viscous perk that actually functions (more crit damage on head shots)
I like the idea of it stacking on hit, so you would need to apply pressure to make use of it. Something like a 2% per hit would work imo.
yes, that was my thinking. On crit would just promote cheese hit and run, more useful in OPR then in war.
Dex is so bad the only viable weapon is musket which still takes 10x skill compared to any current meta build.
