I’m going to guess that if an expansion drops, it will be at least a year after launch. A lot can happen in that time. Right now, I feel like I wouldn’t pay for an expansion. But, that’s because I still feel screwed with my time and money. (Again, before anyone responds, the $40 isn’t the issue and I’m not going to respond to off topic posts in relation to whether or not I or anyone should get one.)
Anywayyyyyy, things can change in this time frame, and something may happen to make me want to play again. I just watched a youtube video about the winter event, and I thought…wow, that looks really cool. I wish I wanted to play it, but I know that if I log in, I’ll just get annoyed - even though the event looks really fun. But, it wouldn’t be fun or cool for me because I’ll just have to deal with all of the other bugs and design that breaks the game for me. That sucks. I still want to play this game even after not playing for a month. This game has so much potential, which is why so many of us complain. We know there’s some really cool stuff here, but there’s all of this other really shitty stuff that we have to put up with to experience the cool stuff, and that really and truly sucks.
I expect I may see many videos with some really cool stuff that might be available to see and do that’s going to make me want to play an expansion. But, there is absolutely no way I’m ever going to give AGS any more of my money unless they “make good,” with refunds or in game coin, AND the game works, AND they stop making stupid design decisions. Is that going to happen? Most likely not. So, that’s probably going to mean, I won’t be paying for any expansion.
I kept hearing about this Brimstone Sands area that is super awesome but the current foundation of the game really needs so many more fixes before adding even more content on top of it.
The game is being improved at least and i am willing to keep playing it even at the casual level if the real life might not allow for more.
I really hope they don’t plan to introduce any kind of paid content, dlc expansion or monthly payment.
The game and playerbase is thin enough already, adding an expansion would divide the playerbase even further, that would be a horrible decision imo.
they should have made monthly payment from the beginning
not that many players at the beginning → no 20h queues, no server meges needed now, montly incoming to keep the game running
I do not expect free expansions in NW. This is always like that in B2P.
Free expansions usually comes in F2P games , because their business model is getting all the money from shady p2win products being hidden behind ‘all content being available for free’.
I wouldn’t even think of an expansion until the bugs get fixed. I still get bugs like: On the auction house, I have the check-box “can equip” on, and it shows me stuff I can’t wear. Yesterday my Bezerker buff greyed out for no reason and I could not use it. Quit to desktop didn’t fix it, but reloading from windows did. Stuff like this should not be happening still. An expansion is out of the question right now.
While I would pay, I think the first should be free as a marketing gimmick. NW lost a ton of players. Doing a thoughtful, engaging expac 1 without a cost may bring people back.
Yea, I doubt I’ll spend any more money on this game at its current state. For a $40 game, I’m getting my money’s worth.
If an expansion or DLC gets released, the only way I’ll pay for it is if at least 75% of the problems we have now are already fixed.
If the expansion or DLC cost me money and is needed for me to continue progression while outstanding issues are still present. Then I’ll just not play anymore.
People said that about CoD. Now it makes 10x more than it ever did before. People would like it. I would buy skins in unlocking tiers. I won’t buy them & just have them, though. Same for CoD; I will buy battlepass & get all those items, I will not just buy a skin pack. Because I am not just buying the skins or other items. That is not what I am buying at all when I do that; I am buying the leveling/progression mechanics to go further than the maxed out player XP.
