In the current game state from level 150 to 200 (2883600 exp) jewelcrafting you need to make about 780 (3700exp each) tier 5 jewelry.
To do so you would need 780 cut pristine gems.
To cut one gem you need 3 quintessence so in total 2340 quintessences.
After adding all the extra chances it looks like you would need 60 000 of some kind of motes to get those 50 levels.
From my experience, I can say that it is possible to collect 1000-1500 motes /h.
So basically you added 60h of running around to collect all the motes when removing the possibility to drop some of them from monsters… Are you kidding me?
All the players that have done that before the changes saved a ton of useless grind.
BTW you think that 3700 exp for T5 jewelry is fair when T3 gives you 1240?

I would understand the nerf to elemental creatures essence drops but you went from 100 to 0 in one patch, without even letting us know that it will happen. Why couldn’t you change essence drops by 70% just to try the idea?
Please make the game interesting… Motes from creatures was the funniest part about them. Now we are left with boring stuff and competition about each plant. Use fishing, make each fish drop some essence, or add them to the treasure chests. Oh, wait you can`t because of bots…
My guess is to artificially extend “content”. Their analysts probably determined it was a risk worth taking as they hope to retain more players with this “content” than they would lose from the impact. Let’s see if it plays out.
It won’t play out the way they want it to. I went from grinding everything to just standing around waiting for OPRs that never happened. I’m done grinding. I’m done dying in these dumb quests that I should be able to solo. Expeditions are still pointless, and making the tuning orbs is still crap. Honestly, I blame that guy named John Smedley. Every game he touches turns into shit.
They obviously have difficulty coding the motes on animals for some reason. They tried removing quints, and it just have the equivalent in raw motes, so they disabled it. Rather than just make it drop a few wisps or a few motes, I believe they do not have the ability to do so in a minor patch, and we will have to wait for the December big patch to see what they do… Check back in a month to see if the game is fixed
I too think it’s an incredible over correction and I hope it gets addressed at some point.
The jewelry xp is imbalanced and all I can do is hope I can make it to 200 before the next change, because chances are things will only get tougher.
I’m trying to balance my disappointment with knowing some things went incredibly fast… But jewelry never seemed easy to me as I’ve worked on it since I reached a level to craft just one piece. I still am not at 200… Until this week, I was closer to 200 in furnishing … That is saying something
Does it make sense to fuse gems now? What T of jewellery is the most effective? T2 if you can afford silver? Or T3?
As far as I could tell, it is very harsh to try to level with T4 or T5.
especially since if you’re trying to craft with expensive mats you want to try and get the best gs on them you can so it’s not entirely wasted. and that means you’re gated by how much azoth you have. which is almost impossible to get on a regular basis. I craft and use all my azoth about once or twice a week. it’s already gated hard without the extra gating on top of hte gating.
Leveling any profession is a hassle now. I’d say hold off until they fix it. The less we do it the more they will see how fucked things got thanks to their overcorrection.

Yeah I noticed this too. I was at 152 before trade skill patch went live. I ended up saving around 200 pristine jewels, which had already had taken forever to do. I thought they were gonna make it about a 3-4x more xp then what we were getting before the patch. Instead it wasn’t even twice what we had before. I feel like a fool changing all those brilliants too the higher quality ones. I ended up getting to 186 last night throwing basically everything I had at it. I’ve found that it’s better to use brilliant since then you can also cut them into greens to bump your levels up a little more. Hoping I can get to 200 before the next patch since they’ll either break it more or make it harder.
They know that Jewelcrafting is a big money maker for endgame so they nerfed the fuck out of it to, say it with me, FUCK THE PLAYERS AGAIN BY ADDING MORE TIME GATES TO THOSE WHO DIDNT REACH 200.
Please increase xp on T4 and especially T5 gems so it makes sense to actually fuse them for the higher level jewellery, atm it feels awful compared to other crafting and T3 gems are best. T5 are economical suicide still.
