It would be really nice if there was a jump attack. I find myself wanting to jump attack as an opener or finisher on some enemies. Would make the combat even more badass.
My Suggestion:
A. Have a standard move for when the player jumps and attacks.
or
B. Have a heavy jump attack and a light jump attack.
Nice Idea, I think it could work very easy by just left- or right- clicking after a simple jump with the spacebar. Maybe a jumpattack would also guarantee a hit on the head and therfore make crit damage with a 100% chance.
But maybe thats to overpoverd or maybe the animation should be just long enough to let the other player react in time or it should drain a lot of stamina.
Why not also add low attacks, which hit the legs?
They could cause a stag, preventing players from running out of pvp (what is heavily discussed atm).
Thanks for the reply. And I apologize for the late reply.
Having a jump attack would benefit the game in the following ways:
More fluid combat
More combat variety while keeping the total skills at a minimum since a jump attack could fall under a light or heavy attack.
Visually pleasing attack opener or finisher depending on the way you combo/string your attacks together.
At the moment, I only see using the jump attack as a light or heavy alteration based on being in the air. Each class category could have a unique animation for the jump attack.
Melee Classes: (Swords, Spears, Axe, Hammer)
Player jumps, uses a light or heavy attack while airborne, and does a crashing downward strike at the target.
Ranged/Magic Classes:
Idea: Player jumps, uses a light or heavy attack while airborne, shooting/casting a projectile that gives a slight kickback in the air propelling them in the opposite direction of shot/cast by a small amount. This would give the visual look of recoil happening in the air, giving a unique animation to ranged/magic classes. Recoil doesn’t need to be that dramatic… just enough to give a nice animation to the attack.
Other considerations:
Jump attacks could also be considered their own type of attack outside of the light/heavy attacks. Instead, you would have light, heavy, and jump attacks.
If you’d like more information or have questions, please let me know.
The idea is a great one and it sure would be cool, though I can’t help but feel they should absolutely halt any new development that would deprive resources from resolving the plethora of bugs and unfinished features in game, especially as new content often comes with its own issues that need ironing out.
