Base damage at 20% needs to be a set damage for magic weapons. For example IG, VG, FS, LS. There is absolutely no reason why a light melee user should recieve a 20% damage buff.
Outgoing healing needs to be 20% as well. Traditionally you will find your healers and mages running light armor, but lately you will notice more and more light melee users because of this buff. Dodge stamina should be at 40
Again, traditionally this is where youd find your rangers and seeing as how they are handling as of now 10% seems fair. But again should be limited to weapon classes, muskets and bows.
Here we see our traditional tanks. However, it seems to be lacking in its key purpose tanking. Out going crowd control debuffs needs to go seeing as all CC output from a heavy users is next to none. Block stability needs an increase to at least 20%. Knock off the outgoing healing for incoming healing for 10%. Maybe add an additional 10% to increased overall health and an overall 5% damage resistance.
A lot can be done to help overall somewhat balance out the classes without over tuning the one and dicking the others as light was done at the start of the game. Game launched and no one wore light, so a lot of bitching was done. But surprise lights were never meant to be all up in the fight. So it was greatly overcompensated and now is just cancer all around to deal with. You have the 20% plus the 10% from enchanted perk, plus the others from weapon perks, 10% from whetstones, throw some rend in there and boom you’re whacking heavies for 3k damage. Right now with the mobility and damage buffs light users recieve it outweighs the survivability of heavy. If all else, Id rather see lights remain as mobile as a light armor user should be but lose the damage buff or make it so by equipping a GS, WH, SnS, or GA knocks them out of the light armor bracket. Maybe thats just me but I cant be the only one to feel this way.
EDIT*: In no way should melee recieve a damage buff to any of these classes, seeing as all buffs can be applied by items or set by perks in the attributes or skills. That and traditionally the only melee’s you would see in an MMORPG are from heavy users and to be honest Id rather have more survivability than out going damage.
I think youre forgetting the whole part where light armor gives you way less defense in exchange for slightly more damage and how is the cc output from heavy users “next to none”? You do realize that being in heavy armor means you can still combo a person with freedoms on armor with hammer stuns? You also get longer shield bashes and whatever else. “Next to none”
When that light armor has enough fortify stacks and empowerment stacks they are no longer considered light armor in a sense that Ill whack some loin cloth wearing fairy for 1k damage but in return take a full frontal 4k damage while wearing heavy and full onyx runeglass. Light armor is nothing compared to what its supposed to be “squishy”.
Exactly what I said and I find it amusing you think that this is true. Shield bashes… the two major CC abilities are subpar compared to what mages bring to the table or the trap called off by the musket users. Hit you with shield bash, youre apparently supposed to be stunned for 2-3 seconds, you take a smidge of damage 0.05ms after my stun and off you go free to roam. Same with shockwave. Hell even grasping vines doesnt root like petrifying scream roots. We have to wombo combo for any of our cc to not even slightly do anything useful. Shockwave, wrecking ball, switch to SnS, shield bash, switch back to WH to use POD. Then start spamming the LMB to apply slows, that also in themselves bring nothing to the table with the mobility of light armor. Which is fine, mobility needs to be a light armor thing but damage buffs based off armor classes does not.
Its like AGS said, “We realized no one was wearing light armor at the start of the game because it is squishy so we beefed it up by adding an overall base damage buff of 20% to allow you a greater chance of shitting all over tanks. Because apparently we were mistaken when releasing the game to make it so easy for lights to die in a 1v4. Now that its beefed go 1v1 a heavy and dont forget to t-bag em when you kill em and dont worry about their health, we’ll shadow nerf that so when the guy that had 22k health when he left will have 16k health when he comes back.”
the thing is, New World has classless character developement, setting bonuses for specific weapons would create a class system and massively reduce variety of builds
Which needs to be done. They need to do something other than handing out “you chose to wear light armor? Here’s your free damage buff on top of all other damage buffs. Now go smack that heavy for 4k damage and make him alt f4 the game.”
Obviously I must be doing something terribly wrong then because I can duel my brother and whack him for 2-3k damage but the second I get into an OPR and come face to face with a light user Im hitting high hundreds to lower thousands. Little survibility? The mobility is the survivibility. Wish I could dish out 4k dmg in one hit and then roll away like a tumbleweed in the wind. Besides the point, because like I said Id rather light retain the mobility just lose the base damage buff. It should be like fighting a piss ant, you cant catch it to kill it but it also doesnt just 3 whap you and place you out for the count.

? Hammer stun combo is basically always going to work when you have heavy armor. If youre in medium or light then a person with freedoms can just dodge out

The 20% (~15%) damage is something the developers really needs to look into. It only benefits the exact builds the community has been making posts about for months. (Mages see below)
Damage is far too high in this patch and here would be a good place to start looking for modifiers.
For people who argue “But we take more damage”
No you don’t. Every weight class plays a different role. The Light weight class is obviously not optimal for point tanking or to jump into every clump you see but it provides enough benefits just from the mobility and the advantage of getting to choose which fights to pick.
For those who say “what about light mages?”
The classic dps mage builds needs rework. The passives in the Firestaff and Ice Gauntlet trees are some of the most boring in the game.
Working with the weightclasses directly can be just as if not more effective than targetting weapon passives to tune certain aspects up or down in PvP builds.
Also for some reason Base Health doesn’t scale with modifiers but Base Damage does.
Never said they were but do you realize how much easier it is to gain stacks in light vs the other two classes?

Uh, no, regardless if I hit you or if another teammate hits you the stun wears off. If anything in 1v1 it just makes it easier for me to escape and even then light is chasing me. In no mmorpg should a light armor user be chasing a heavy down, but it happens in new world why? Because light knows light equals GG all the time in a 1v1.

Its not the catching, its the CC trying to lock down a light user to get them killed by another DPS because apparently hitting a light at 275 str with a GS only hits for roughly 700-1000 damage but same GS can whack me for 2500-4000 damage.
Yea its so easy that almost no one besides stat pad bows and muskets use it and btw to get fortify stacks you just need to dodge which anyone can do
