Just posted a tweet storm on the queue situation

@playnewworld

#NewWorldMMO New World is a good game, being hampered by terrible management decisions & even worse communication with its players. The queues in New World are 100% Amazons fault, predictable & no solution has been clearly communicated or offered. The global 1/x

name reservation system (guilds/characters) and one character per server, will directly impact, the eventual solutions. Many guilds & friends groupings are being disrupted, as players consider switching servers to the “new” servers being introduced. This is not about leaving 2/x

2 days of play/progress behind, it is about losing character & guild names, friends/companies being left behind by the confusion caused by Amazon’s terrible decision making and failure of communication. How do we as players judge the decision to move to a “new” server, 3/x

without knowing how Amazon plans to fix this situation? Will the solution adversely impact, these newly introduced servers? When will increased server capacity happen? Has the impact on starting areas and 1-25 areas ever been tested at current spawn rates? Currently, there 4/x

are quests in game which require you to “kill & sometimes collect a item” from a mob. There are already 10 characters standing around the mob trying to get a swing to register the kill or grab the item. Many have just given up on these quests. Kill Bison or Elk, or a 5/x

unique mob are all impacted by these quests, with a current server cap of 2,000 how will capacity increase impact these quests?

Amazon has many decisions to make & there is no perfect solution.

However, the poor communication with it’s players/community are impacting 6/x

player goodwill, that was generated by the quality of the game & the experience in open and closed beta.

Amazon/New World Developers… Whatever you are going to do, please announce it in detail ASAP, hopefully before the end of the day today, to lessen the impact this 7/x

situation is having on players, friends, Companies, and the choices players are considering making, which Amazon will be impacted by for years to come.

Lack of clarity is causing speculation, which impacts adversely the credibility developers had earned to date.

Thank you 8/end

This

and this.

These are the 2 big problems actually, AFK players or macro users aren’t to blame, they aren’t the problem here, they’re the consecuence of terrible decisions in server handling. And adding 3242323723575 million new servers are not going to fix the problem when you have your char blocked in an overpopulated server, with your friends/guilds/territories/items/gold/etc stuck inside it aswell, is not about “ok, cool a new server, I’ll join it and start again over” is more about “I don’t want to lose my progress/friends/guild/name/gold/items/territory” even more when it isn’t your fault. IS AMAZON FAULT and you know this, because everyone one of us PAID for this game way before it was released, and you knew the numbers were going to be big.
So find a solution fast or atleast give some news about what you are doing to fix this that isn’t the tipycal “we are adding 1 TRILLION more servers” but the only char/friends/guild you care about are still stucked in the same 5k players queue server, ups.

PD: sorry for my bad english but I’m not native speaker and a little bit tilted.

Regardless of the solution Amazon plans to deploy or not, the poor communication and lack of actionable information is hurting developer credibility.

It is not about fixing everything today, it is about explaining in detail, what is going to be done and when so player/guilds/companies can make an informed decision as to what to do (start over, wait, both) when the fixes occur.

Communication is the correct first step.

Great post and 100% accurate! Gotta love the early on White Knights though who defend this and say it isn’t Amazon’s fault and claiming this is the best mmo launch.

3 days now and it gets worse with queues. ALL other mmos that had queue issues at one point was greatly improved within 24 hrs and 99% resolved by 3 days. New World. 3 days. 0% resolved. In fact -20% because it is even worse. Funny how also all the other mmos don’t have their own web service/servers like Amazon (AWS) does.

Also very much agree about the horrible communication on Amazon’s end. Just because they added a notification message saying “We understand the login issues… blah blah blah” but just keeping that up for 3 days isn’t good communication.
