so… after ppl spent thousands of umbrals it necessarily need to be something good like plague strikes is… enchanted or vicious would be fair at this point.
It feels like they are actively trying to annoy their playerbase. I’ve basically no-lifed the new dungeon to get the IG/VG because of the perks. Almost all the umbral shards Ive farmed in OPR has been spent to upgrade the new weapons. I dont enjoy mutated dungeons.
With this change all the farming for umbral shards in OPR and the dungeons runs are wasted. So unprofessional to do this change now. Its funny to see how biased the devs are when it comes to mage/melee. They dont even give the weapons a usable weapon perk, they give it a average armor perk, what a joke. Inb4 they give the weapons mortal refreshment as a big compensation. lmao.

How am I clueless? You received six buffs. I even listed them all. Those are good buffs. I’ve used FS, it ain’t rocket science. Lob fireballs, lob heavies, keep distance and use burnout when you have to. It ain’t mind bogglingly difficult. You don’t even have to hit fireball, the splash damage is enough lol.
I don’t even use fire staff and I know it is a joke to even say that such changes are massively effectual and something to write home about. Stat padders certainly use FS, but it is not as if FS alone is nuking anyone from 100 to 0 without any CC or with the weapon alone. Going to really thumb your nose at FS because of a plague debuff on a weapon drop from the new showcase dungeon that is getting changed after the fact. Short sighted thinking like yours only promotes the shit balance we have right now. No idea of objectivity, just reading patch notes like “buff buff nerf ”.
FS only took the spotlight because VG is literally dogshit right now and you need mobility to survive the root bullshit. OoD got a slight damage decrease, scream recovery animation ends just as the root does, blade is still unreliable, scream and oblivion range puts you in grav well radius. YA I WONDER WHY FIRE STAFF IS IN THE METAAAAAA
Nobody is generating a 10 stack of burn in PVP unless the target is literally a tank sitting in heals afk and you know it. At most 4 stacks, which, even now, is still under the cap. So this change literally made burns do twice the damage and tick faster.
Everyone else: 54 damage a second instead of 27 damage every second and a half, you really outdid yourself AGS, great job. Fire Staff now has the high ground.

You previously got 10 seconds and a total of 7 ticks.
54x12 = 648
27*7 = 189
Math is cool.
And of course, this stacks it’s not like it resets the duration or anything, you know… like powder burn, which of course, can’t be doubly applied by two musket players. We’re not actually going to pretend like ~350% increase to total burn damage is low… are we?
