Maybe you come from a backwoods server where you think VG is still the meta, idk.

Thousands of players saying the changes are bad and a scam for those who have farmed the new dungeon and spent +50K umbral shards for a build ESPECIALLY for those weapons and what AGS do a week later ? they keep the changes, put it on PTR and in 2 weeks it will be on LIVE servers.

Hi.

Why was the Void Gauntlet changed? The issue was stated that plagued STRIKES perks weren’t intended to be on the ranged weapons. The Blackguard’s Void Gauntlet had plagued CRITS on it, not strikes.

I can understand the others being changed but the Void Gauntlet had no reason to be altered as it didn’t have the perk your team stated as being a problem anyway. This change takes it from a great weapon to a mediocre one.

I also completely agree with everyone that says Refreshing evasion is a very poor choice for these weapons.

The decision to remove Plagued Strikes from these weapons after people have spent countless hours obtaining them is unacceptable. It was such a breath of fresh air to see some decent dungeon loot for mages. This is like pulling the rug out from under us mages just as soon as there is some decent mage loot.

The bias against mages is unacceptable. Please reconsider this decision AGS, or you will continue to bleed players to other games.

That what drives me insane, they are removing plague crits from ranged weapons, rangeds weapons rarely getting anything while melee weapons constantly getting bis perks and on the top of that they are even got the aversion perks which is again a direct counter against rangeds/mages while these classes have nothing against melees.

The whole game is so unbalanced. I mean its balanced, around GA/WH and nothing else matters, other classes are here as a punch bag for the 300str lmb monkeys.

No one is being disrespectful… people are simply irritated that these changes are being made. It is crystal clear that mage and ranged weapons are hated by the devs and there has never been a solid explanation for this… can you give us some insight into why it is like this?

This is a prime opportunity (Amazon pun not intended) for the devs to show that they actually listen to the community and value player feedback. The feedback I’ve seen is overwhelmingly against removing plagued strikes from these ranged weapons.

Just when mages felt they were beginning to be on an even playing field (and finally shown some love with dungeon loot), AGS wants to snatch it out from underneath us (or so it seems).

Give us a reason to stay engaged with your game.

yep. take note some of us invested alot of runs (dont knowing the mechanics so… many hours) and thousands of umbrals just BECAUSE the plague strike perk (a really good offensive perk). so theres no way it will be changed for a refreshing evasion.

easy fix: just replace it with something offensive like enchanted, vicious, plague critics (idk use ur creativity)

What are you talking about? They already have plagued strikes and plagued crits on live server and still, only a few mages are slotted in wars. No it’s not hilariously broken, it’s already on live and it is perfectly fine. What is hilariously broken is how over-tuned and easy it is to heal.

The thing is, there are questions that need to be asked and answered by the Game Team to make their final decisions on this highly sensitive discussion.

  1. Is having Plagued Strikes on Blackguard’s Firestaff and Ice Gauntlet “game breaking” enough in both PvE and PvP to where it “needs” to be replaced? As far as the consensus is concerned, more players are utilizing melee weapons over the Blackguard’s FS/IG since players know it’s being changed but seldom utilize those weapons due to the reaction of removing Plagued Strikes and players feel it was a “waste” of upgrading them with Umbral Shards.

  2. What data has been pulled from the game to where Blackguard’s Firestaff and Ice Gauntlet being majority utilized in PTR OPR and Wars which had a substantial impact of balance between melee and ranged overall DPS and/or kills? What if any, was the most utilized weapons to date?

  3. Has the other alternative perks suggested such as Refreshing Pillar of Fire, Empowering Fireball or Refreshing for Blackguard’s Firestaff been a ideal thought from the community that reached the Game Team for decision making?

  4. Has the other alternative perks suggested such as “Refreshing” or “Plagued Crits” been considered to replace Plagued Strikes on Blackguard’s Ice Gauntlet?

  5. If players have invested substantial amount of Umbral shards upgrading the Firestaff and Ice Gauntlet with the possible of Plagued Strikes being removed, what compensation (if any) would be granted to players? How will you know what players have upgraded those weapons to 625? It takes 9,164 Umbral Shards to upgrade from 600-625. Overall, Refreshing Evasion on a fully upgrade 625 FS/IG is not ideal since the Game Team is considering removing a “consistent” damage perk and replacing it with Refreshing Evasion which is a 0.98% CD reduction perk. To a player, that would of been a “waste” of shards with this reaction of removing Plagued Strikes. Personally, ability cool down reduction “passively” is more desirable than dodge animation CD when you can stack “Refreshing” which is “passive” ability cool down reduction which does not require you to roll/dodge consistently for cool down reduction. Plus, you also have to account the player has “changed” their gear for Refreshing Evasion so they have maximum cool down reduction. But let’s take a look at that math also.

With x8 “Refreshing” perks on Gear (from head to feet and all jewelry) and x1 “Refreshing” on current weapon, that’s a total of 26.1% cool down reduction “passively”.

With x8 “Refreshing Evasion” perks on gear (from head to feet and all jewelry) x1 “Refreshing Evasion” on current weapon, that’s a total of 8.82% cool down reduction after exiting the dodge animation.

The thing is, with 100 Stamina (base) you get two rolls (light equip load), jumps (medium equip load) and side steps (heavy equip load), so, after exiting the dodge animation, for each roll/jump/side step, that’s x2 which still bring the 8.82% reduction not even close to 26.1% of the “Refreshing” (passive) cool down reduction. So, you’re actually “losing” cool down reduction with maximum Refreshing Evasion. Now, if you throw in more Hearty (9.8% more stamina perk) for a min/max player against a min/max “Refreshing”, “Hearty” player, you’re still losing out on cool down reduction with Refreshing Evasion. By now, most Mages, would have their gear set with Refreshing and other perks that of Refreshing Pillar of Fire, Empowering Fireball with their gear to optimize maximum damage output. Removing Plagued Strikes on Firestaff and IG would bring even more imbalance to OPR/War Mages since majority of the time, there’s more melee and DEX players who out perform mage builds in current OPR/Wars.

For the PvE aspect, this should also be considered as well for min/max 625 players who conduct Mutated Level 10 Expeditions while Plagued Strikes is a valuable perk against sub-bosses and bosses. The more damage output with survivability skills from the player, the more formidable that players contributions are to the group.

I appreciate your communication to the community and I hope the Game Team can come to a reasonable decision. Thank you.

looks like they will keep the stubborn mode and just ignore ALL feedback stated on forums last 2 weeks about keep plague strikes (or replace it with some equivalent offensive perks) - refreshing evasion on weapons = SUCKS

Why not state why you think that? Thats going to convince anyone of anything beyond other FS users.
