Keeping my go-to Username on Fresh Servers

I‘ve been one of the day 1 New World players and claimed the Username „Mary“ (since that‘s my name) in the first few minutes after release.

I ended up quitting the game after global chat was overrun with duping lvl 4 account trying to sell void ore and so on.

Now that there is a chance for a fresh start with so many improvements the game made it is finally time to give it another go. My lvl 60 „Mary“ account (which has probably been through several server merges) still exists.

I‘ve talked to Support in live chat, telling me there is a time window of up to 90 days to wait until the Username becomes available again. It is a very clean and wanted name, which is why I am scared of losing it due to its popularity.

Maybe this problem could be fixed if there was a way to „reset“ a Character, making it lose all progress and items etc to be able to keep the Username and enter a new Server. I just want to keep my clean Username and Idk how :frowning:

Its yours for the 90 days, so jsut delete it and your good to use it immediately, after the 90 days anyone can use it. Somwhere out there i gave someone sebastion :slight_smile:

should be able to create the new character with ‘Mary’ as soon as you delete the original.

only issue i would expect could maybe be queue times?

Are you sure that‘s how it works? Because the support person told me otherwise

We can test this with another name on a fake character. One moment :slight_smile:

Its account bound for “some time after delettion” takes atleast a minute to beable to reuse the name. Id say aslimg as you do it within even a few days youd be fine
