If a single step is all it takes to circumvent the AFK detection, then don’t you think the people creating the bots could easily add those steps in their macro? If this is really happening, then it’s a poorly implemented AFK detection system. I personally fished yesterday and stood in the same place for 15 or 20 casts, not sure how long that is, and I didn’t get booted. But every time I caught a fish, the animation twisted me around and I had to turn back and face the hot spot I was fishing in. I kinda remember in the Beta that my friend was complaining of the animation spinning him around but that it wasn’t doing it to me. So maybe the people getting kicked are not getting spun around. I don’t really like that spinning animation, but maybe this could be used to prevent bots, just have the spinning animation spin you around in random directions when you catch a fish, there is no way you could counter that with a bot.
well clicking buttons can be done via a macro too, but as long as you’re not doing repetitive movements each time, you should not get detected by their AFK detection system. I know I can’t hit a MAX cast every time, and I doubt others can, so I don’t understand why it would detect you as being a bot.

No. Just got kicked here even though my camera spins. So that’s not it.
And yes, battling bots is always an uphill battle. And it’s not becoming any easier really. Bots more often are using computer vision or even machine learning. So even things like spinning animations and what not, really isn’t the end to bots anymore.
Anno 2021 I personally think that if you want to actively start countering bots, you will need to start looking for non human behavioral patterns. Think logged in duration, logged in timings, odd transaction history, etc.
That in addition to just having a ‘bot response team’, quickly responding to bot reports, quickly porting in to confirm and if evident bot, strike the banhammer.
There is less reward and no coin now too for fishing?
I actually pulled a level 6 mob to a level 14 suspected fishing “bot”. It was sitting there constantly casting and reeling in. If they were there, they should have easily dispatched the mob. It ended up killing them because the bot didn’t know how to react to aggro. It also took about 5 mins for the mob to kill the player.
Yeh they removed everything what made fishing lucrative, just because they’re paranoid about botters. Invest in a damn AI for detecting actual bots, you’re founded by damn Amazon, beg Jeff for some money
That sucks then. I’ll test it later, how long were you in the same place? I guess one thing they could add is those color blind looking images where you have to type what number you see made up of dots, etc… So before they kick you, you get asked are you really a human, and type in the number or word you see to prove it.
I noticed in your video that you’re not getting the animation that spins you around after you catch a fish, not that this is the reason you got kicked, but I’m just curious how you avoid it, because I find that animation annoying.
It gives a warning on the top-right corner for me while idling in town but I don’t fish yet…

So now the player like me who only plays as intended, therefore I avoid activities that has people playing not as intended, loses my only ability to make gold. Not only that, those that already botted to riches will set the market. So I can’t do anything but sell mats for a penny as someone’s bitch. Or I have to join a town to be some streamers bitch . I don’t think I am liking this game much. Fantastic gaming engine, terrible game.
Yes, I have been kicked about 5 times now. All while fishing. Turning and fishing different angles, different lures, only thing is I did not move from spot
Dang ,come on make the system smarter. Bots shouldn’t have to ruin fishing. There are many of us who find the fishing fun and relaxing .I could do it for hours
Oh it got me while crafting. I was crafting 152 boots and I guess it took longer than the AFK timer. LOL.
if you left click your mouse right after you finish reeling it skips the unhook animation.
Not exactly sure, didn’t precisely time it, but I think it probably was just the regular AFK kick timing. Now just without prior warning really. In that time I basically did nothing else than fish, rotate camera, fish, repeat. No moving, no exit fishing mode for anything, no bate changing.
Sort of to see the ‘AFK’ kick myself.

Agreed. I got kicked out for being AFK while browsing the market.
You know, because the geniuses at amazon games did not put much filters or ways to search gear without forcing you to look at every goddamn item just to see if it has the right attributes bonuses or the right level/armor protection/weapon damage you need.
as for fishing… they do need to make it more interactive. Even FF11’s fishing was more involved than this.
