It’s unfair because if it’s not full, there’s no reason to kick me.

A company might, for example, kick low level players to make room for higher level players, that would be fair, right?
Let me ask YOU something, how is kicking someone when the groups aren’t full fair according to you?
You’re not entitled to the spot. You’re not running the invasion. Any claim that it’s unfair is laughable and a result of some delusion that you should be picked over other people. So why do you think that? The UI for army parties is broken, it autofills people. Maybe they never intended on picking you. You’re annoyed at the wrong thing, it’s not an issue of fairness it’s a design issue with the army party system. Coming here crying that it’s unfair just shows your self centred mentality rather than do anything useful like highlighting a problem that prompts developer action.

Your assumption that it isn’t full is the issue. Most (good) companies will have spreadsheets or at a bare minimum a loose plan for who they’re taking into the invasion for the best chance of success. Your initial selection was automated, not their choice.
Your removal is an administrative necessity.
I assert that it’s not unfair to remove you. It is annoying for you that you were selected in the first place yes, it gives you false hope of being in said invasion, but fairness has nothing to do with it.
