Killing fishing bots

Getting multiple bots off the server so real people can play… I’d say I’d be okay with getting the 24 hour ban hammer for that.

If you’re reported and amazon issued you a 24 hour ban, chances are you didn’t kill a bot, but a player that was just fishing while watching tv or something. That makes you the asshole in that situation

if they arent a bot, they’ll move or defend themselves
COMMON SENSE … lol

Yeah, not my fault if you die while you’re afk.

Not really. Isn’t my fault if you die while you’re afk. You’re taking the inherent risk of leaving your character there unattended. If I were a dev and I saw your character sitting there spam casting a rod at a fishing spot and rarely reeling in, then never moved once a mob hits them… they’re clearly botting. That’s not an afk person. If they try to move, it’s a little different. But in that case they wouldn’t die anyway.

Um, that’s not afk, and yeah, it would be your fault. I don’t think you realize how backwards your logic is here.

If I’m wearing fishing gear and I get ganked from behind by a troll dragging mobs, especially in a high level lucky fishing hole, there’s not much I can do except take it or make an attempt.

You’re all trying to defend yourselves for being vigilantes that don’t care about any collateral damage you all do to legit players. I honestly do hope you all get caught and banned, your toxic playstyles is kinda sick IMO.

You have to actively reel a fish in, ya know. If a character is reeling a fish in, but doesn’t run from a mob, that’s a bot. If it were a real person, they’d run.

see you are pulling at strings. If you go to an out of the way fhisng spot and find 4 toons named ABCDE in random arrangements they are bots. Here you are playing holy Pariah thinking we are gonna train reg people. If you cant tell who is AFK or a bot in an MMO by now … pay attention.

Again, if a person is spam casting, reeling almost never, but when they do and a mob hits them and they don’t run, it’s a bot. 100%. You have to reel the fish in manually, this isn’t an automatic thing, so if they’re reeling a fish in, they HAVE to either be physically there doing it themselves, and as such would run from a train, OR it is a BOT that will just sit there and take it, and hopefully die.

My entire statement is if there was a legit player in the group, we went that path for a bit, then you went back to a point that wasn’t in my initial line of convo to feed into your reasoning.

Report the bots, but if you have a legit player caught in the crossfire, I hope you get banned for griefing.

A real player wouldn’t get caught… because they’d fucking move…

Just like real players move while they’re harvesting iron, right? Oh wait, we’re in the middle of harvesting, we either dont want to lose it, or stuck in an animation. We don’t have 360 view of our characters at all time. If some random dude drags mobs on me from behind, I’m not guaranteed to see anything, and getting out of an animation in time is not a guarantee. Also, for serious harvesters, our gear at the time may be shit armor class, so we may go down a lot quicker than we normally would.

I’m not going to monitor this thread anymore, cause it’s clear you all just want to find a reason to grief and are making up any reasoning to support your actions if innocents are involved. I just hope you get banned if you do this to a legit player.

Peace.

You seriously can’t tell they are bots? You must be new to mmos but here are some things that make it completely obvious.

  1. All around the same level.
  2. All wearing the same exact clothes
  3. The names
  4. When you drag mobs to them they don’t do anything and end up dying.

You don’t have to do anything besides for press “E” once to mine iron or chop a tree down. In order to fish, you have to ACTIVELY BE FUCKING DOING SOMETHING - clicking to reel in the fish.

Jesus fuck man, have you never fished before?

You don’t understand that it is literally impossible to fish unless you’re actively at your computer paying the fuck attention to your line. If that’s not happening, you’re either not going to catch shit, or you have a bot doing it for you. If it’s a bot, it will die to a train. If it’s a real person, they’ll notice and run… because they’re actively fucking there.

Considering stuff still randomly aggro’s people gathering when I’m the one attacking them you probably don’t even have to train to them. Just get close pop something then watch it run away from you and attack them.

Well on my server, there’s a character named Iron8888 who’s been sitting at the same iron node for 4 days straight. Hasn’t moved from the spot once, and hasn’t logged off. Pretty confident that’s not a real player

What if they are not a bot but just want to finish getting that fish? Then you’d be griefing with monster PK.

Just report who you think is a bot.

As my last post was removed, I think it is unbelievable that Amazon would protect the bots and remove/ban/threaten actual players that care about the longevity of this game. It’s unfortunate and I don’t see how those actions will sustain the community as a whole.

There, I think this post is cleaner than my last. Hopefully it’s not removed as well.

There were tons of them hanging out on the rocks at the base of the waterfall near by Windsward. It was tedious but slowly shoved each one of them off the rocks with the ice pylon so I could let the boars have fun. They eventually moved them all to the top of the falls but at least people will notice them there and hopefully report.
To those saying “What if it’s not a bot?” These were bots. No doubt about it. If you even bother asking that question then you know nothing. Go see them for yourself then come back and tell me it “might be a real player.”
