Lag spikes making the game unplayable

Hello, @SeraphimBros

I will try this and let you know results

Sure :cowboy_hat_face:

same not my internet or my hardware

Sorry, it took so long to test the queue was long. It did not seem to help.

Having very similar problems with high latency, coming from the Midwest I can’t seem to get a stable connection to East or West (East being slightly better but not much). Have done all the things to troubleshoot. Stable connection with no issues with any other games. High end rig. Getting frustrating.

Hi guys, Was trying to find somewhere to write this one down… But i have been experiencing the same issue…
After 3-4 days since release.
What is happening is I’ll run round fine… and then i will 3k ms ping in a stutter step encounter making combat unplayable.

What i have noticed is the my GPU at round this time hits Power Limit. and the game lags up… ( why would GPU capping power cause game to lag ?)

I tried lowering detail settings didnt change a thing. As it appears to relate to the GPU I am going to try Downgrading my driver until it goes away… In beta i never had this type of issue, and playing on a low pop server, so its not player density causing it. But it feels like something changed in the last maintenance window that caused it to start for me. And not the Graphics driver but the relating thing i am seeing is voltage limit capping on my GPU as the lag starts. (Nvidia 2080.)

I’ll post again if it resolves it.

Just a quick follow up. on this…
I downgraded from 472.12 to 471.96, and game recommended high visual detail settings, and also the issue appeared to go away. No longer hitting voltage limit. or lag spikes…
I’d suggest downgrading GPU Drivers…

Will check my stats and give it a shot tomorrow. Thank you for following up!

DNS record registration errors. The RPC server is unavailable. There is a solution ?

I did what xBaaDf00d suggested and rolled back nVidia drivers to 471.96 and completely resolved the issue for me. Constant, stable input latency on both East and West (better on East for me).

So clearly something wrong with the latest nVidia drivers.

WARNING
So just a quick one on this, GPU Was power limiting yes.
This is a warning sign… rolling back the driver, removes the limit.
What does this mean NVidia is throttling power distribution to the card in drivers causing this issue.
Reasoning see reference New world killing GPU’s.
As per Jays comments Limit the Framerate, to a level below your cards capability 60fps, or lower… or you essentially risk burning out your GPU, … From my understanding that means 3090 or 3080ti’s. But be warned rolling back the driver undoes Nvidias quick fix for fried GPU’s in new world.

Be Aware!

Thanks for the warning. Ever since the reports of bricking GPUs came out I’ve turned on the FPS cap for that exact reason.

Ur A Life Saver Tysm

Anyone know a fix for AMD?

Yes Im having the same issues. Game worked fine the first week, perfection. Now im having exactly the same problems as you, game unplayable. And ive also done every single attempt to fix it as you have. Wth is going on??

Yup!! My game was running fine until after the most recent maintenance, and now the game is unplayable. Its not the GPU because my game starts lagging and stuttering all while the FPS stays consistent around 60+.

Which GPU? You never specified?

I have an RTX 2060 graphics card. I think i figured out what the problem was. Anytime my server gets to a high pop level of players I start to experience the lag spikes and increased ping. My internet circuit is capped at 10Mbs and I believe when the more players are on a server the more bandwidth this game requires to maintain updates with the server. You can check your network adapter while playing and see the large amounts its trying to send.

Solution: play on a low pop server, high pop servers still lag for me.

So, GPU, I run a 2080… Flat…
As for the bricking gpus, thats 3080’s and 3090’s but pays to be cautious.

Since doing what i have stated above i have not had the issues with random lag spikes causing the bullet time like effects.
But that being said I have also now updated to 496.13 i think it is the latest as of a couple of days ago, and it seems to be good. Though I do put the limit framerate to 60fps option. though the game still runs round 85, amusingly.

I think this has an impact the frame rate limiter.

Hope this helps.
