Larger Party Size / Raid Groups + Raid Chat

Hi,

Open World Party Size Increase

Currently party sizes are maxed out at 5 players, I propose a change allowing for larger parties, I feel 10~ is a better number especially when in the open world when often there are 2x groups of 5 running around together in the high level zones.

You could make this change so that it only affects open world (dungeons would still be locked at max of 5 players) or you could simply scale the dungeons 1 of 2 ways…

1.1 Scale dungeons so enemies have more life for every extra player in the party.
1.2 Scale dungeons so enemies have more damage for every extra player in the party (though this could also be a bad move making large groups a no go for large parties when a boss/enemy starts 1 shotting more players)

OR

2.1 Scale the dungeons so that there are more enemies that spawn, if you have a 10 man group then you would get twice the amount of enemies as normal at a minimum though I feel it should be 2.5x as many enemies to make it a little more difficult because there is just way more power in the group + likely have 2 healers in the group.

Raid Group

The alternative way of doing it is to have a “raid group” which is separate to a party/group but connected.

The way this would work is one player would invite another to a raid group, they could then invite people (up to 15 sound fair?) into a “raid group”

Once you are in the raid group you can message in the raid chat, via /raid.

You could also optionally join into the “raid voice chat” which allows you all to be in a voice chat together. This is especially useful when you’re trying to do runs in higher level areas like Shattered Mountains.

This sort of change/addition would be insanely useful for Myrkgard runs which often need 10-15 people to complete safely mostly because of the knights that 1 shot most people.

Also the trains for corruptions, elite chest runs, main bosses like up in Edengrove.

Totaly this ! It is such a immense QOL measure when you do +5 people group content in pve as well as pvp.

The ability to place markers for the whole raid to see and to actually see them onthe map makes a huge difference to coordination.

I agree there should be a “raid” type set up! There is often times when doing myrkguard run or other elite boss runs that players do not get “credit” for the kill thus not getting a drop. Many times there are 30+ players doing Myrk Priests so credit/drops can be scarce depending on group setup. With a raid setup this could be alleviated very easily.

I agree there should be a raid setting. We already have it in instanced content with /army.

I think there are bigger issues at play though. If you look at Myrk, it is supposed to be 5 man content. Have you tried to do that as 5 man 580+gs content? Once you get to the corruption portals, you start to question your decision. So Myrk does not have 5 man content. So now if you go in with 15, 25, 50 players to make it a zerg fest, what happens? You lose loot, but survive. Hmm.

If Myrk were ‘instanced’ that would allow them to tune better and to have loot situations resolved. However, that opens up another issue and now it is not open world and thus no potential for PVP.

If they are going to have purported 5 man content that scales based upon the number of people there, then they need to do a few things imo . . . fix the scaling issue. The scaling issue should be based upon the number of people within 50 yards of the mob. The boss should drop loot for ALL who engaged it. Tune the RNG so that, yes, it could be an infused health pot to a legendary. Yes, imo, it’s better to complain about getting a health pot instead of complaining about getting nothing.

Bump. This is a MUST! I think even 15-20 is better than 10. Trying to coordinate 4 groups of 5 or even even 6grp of 5 is a waste of time
Please enable raid groups.

Considering some bosses have crazy stats now and need larger groups to kill them, Dryad Beast Malevolence needs 10+ players.

A new player limit is needed. 10 would be a good starting point.

I was baffled when I found out that New World had max party sizes of 5. A game that focuses a lot on open world PvE and PvP and you can’t properly group up with your raid group? This should have been a part of the game from day 1 tbh. The faster this gets added to the game the better.

we’re a small guild of real friends, and we’re about 8 peoples. When we’re all online and want to run some contents all together… well, we have some people left behind cuz of the max party block at 5.

Clearly a good thing to add. Elite zones runs and PvP influence-pushing groups definitely want this.

I would also very much like to see this as a way for up to 20 people to sign up for OPR together, so you could actually have a premade team with organization. In the long-term, I’d love to see this with ranks and rewards for it.

I believe AGS can easily update this feature. Using the similar way as ‘Army group’ in the war, then you can simply check all the groups that you are in.

Additionally, I’d like to ask Devs to update the symbol for the party member. Current symbols aren’t effective enough visually. It would be better if the symbol is bigger and/or above the character. People would recognize their allies/members easier.
It’s quite important to distinguish in War, OPR, and bigger open world stuff.
