Launch 1 server per region on a 3 month cycle to incentivize people not currently invested to try New World now that it is in a much better state then launch

1 Server per region that every 3 months opens to allow people to create a character and play through the game at a slightly accelerated pace, maybe increased xp, gathering, or gear progression the details i come up with are irrelevant to the idea, then after that 3 month cycle ends give them a choice of the current ‘normal’ servers to transfer their character to and give them a reward to their character like a costume or a title.

This would bring all lower level players together who currently have very little incentive for picking up the game or jumping back in since ‘join in progress’ is not very common in the mmo-sphere and most of the players come in during some kind of ‘launch’ either initial launch, new server launches, or large expansion launches.

This would give people who did not play during launch a chance to play through the game how it was intended to be played, with people at your level doing your level specific dungeons progressing through the game with other players around you. Early game in currently is not appealing enough for someone who is not already invested to continue and become a regular player.

This would give people who lost interest in the game a chance to rekindle their interest and bring other friends along to start playing again, its is widely more appealing to start on an even playing field together versus joining an mmo where much of the player base is far ahead of you and there is not much hope in sight without potentially hundreds of hours of investment to catch up to the average, these servers will help with that issue.

This is a fairly low-cost method of getting players to play the game, a new server that cannot be transferred to that has an xp boost, one or two marketing pushes and the ‘seasonal’ servers in each region will be filled with new/returning people looking to get the enjoyment New World is definitely capable of giving now.

You would need to prevent transfers or the “new player experience” would be wrecked by older players dropping in and taking the place over.

a server that cant be transferred to with a small bonus for playing to help people progress their characters enough to atleast 60 + decent gearscore would wildly increase the player population

people are far more likely to join an mmo if there is a place where they can progress and not feel like they are behind, i.e fresh starts / large new expansions ect

without a massive expansion that is game changing, your only option to have new players funnel into an mmo (which if you do not have your game will ALWAYS be losing players) is a fresh start server of some kind

so you want to con people into playing who will quit when they are forced to transfer to mega company dominated servers. the game is horrific in its current state. maybe better than launch in your opinion, but still horrible to an awful lot of folks.

so basically its not even the game thats the issue its the retarded people that play it. Makes sense to me!

They already can mark any server as “no transfers”. So they have tools to make new servers for new players/chracters only.

yea like a very modest marketting push and word of mouth would skyrocket the player count and get people back into the game on an even playing field, old players who quit could re experience launch and new players who havent played new world would be able to experience the game it was meant to be played from the start, not being level 20-30 with everybody around you maxed level with maxed gear and nobody to play with

They still need to fix the expertise grind, I think. It seems like a big barrier for a lot of players.

They also need to change how influenced is gained to push a zone. Doing mindless pve missions to go to war is bad. Moreover, they need to incentivize the current landowners to defend their zone.

Additionally, they need to encourage people to open world PvP. They probably either need open world pvp events to attract people to a particular area or they need to make one zone the “PvP zone of the day” and the PvP quests give 2-3x the rewards as other zones.

Once they fix those things I think they can try a free to play strategy.

This would bring me back. I’ve been on the fence of returning, and just popped in to the forums to see the state of the game. If there was a fresh start server available, I’d be back in a heart beat. Right now every time I seriously think about returning, I imagine that I’m about to get stomped by a bunch of mega-guild max level GS 600 sweaties camping the lowbie zones ganking and can’t bring myself to reinstall.

If there were occasional fresh start servers, or even better a seasonal server with accelerated xp but restarts every 4-6 months, I’d be all over it.

As much as I wouldn’t like it…I feel as though now that the game is in a good place, it kinda needs a bit of a soft reset.

One thing I really hope they don’t do, is the cheap way out of it which is just increase the level cap, add new level content and use that to reset the game.

I think the game is littered with people who were banned, exploited the markets, exploited OPR previously, abused a cheat for levelling professions, managed to duplicate gold…

Now we’re left with a good game but with broken data.

they would ideally have a choice of what server to move to, not be randomly put into a server after their seasonal server ends and a new one starts

except the only ones left have been conquered by mega companies.
and if they arent they hardly have a server pop left as most people leave when one company rules a map.

Grind itself is just another progression system. But way it is implemented is bad:

  1. it does force you to grind it if you want play any pvp
  2. it starts when you already visisted all provinces and did all quests and are lvl 60. and takes like 100h + just running dungeons.

It would be ok if we get new province with new to grind while we check it out and pvp dowscaling would be removed.
