This is the stuff we melee players have to deal with constantly. Many abilities are totally broken like this, spear abilities go through this as well and Im sure many other melee weapons deal with this.
Why is nobody talking about this? did we just accept that we have to wait a second after we use an ability to let the server catch up and we can see where in the world we actually are while we bounce around like a ping pong ball?
SnS leaping strike skipping frames and being able to leap 10 miles is what I thought would be pointed out, what youre showing is classic desync in NW like its something new, its not at all, SnS leaping strike needs a nerf imo and the stun combo with it is actual rubbish too, I hope the devs wake up and actually balance it out.
This was nerfed 4 months ago, are you not paying attention? you cannot leaping strike and follow it with a shield bash anymore, just play better and you will be fine.
And skipping animations also is desync, this happens to every single other weapon in the game as well.
Damn, that tracking is so good its hitting people in iframes and also teleports you to melee range. I am not understanding how you getting outplayed means the “abilities are totally broken”, but I’m not surprised its coming from an SnS user.
Dunno when they add a 20 years old mechanic to the game to make this shit blanced. Stun Bar. If it is full, you cant be hard stunned anymore for 30s or less. Maybe next year. maybe Pvp will be good in this game.
Interesting observation, maybe you stumbled on to a clue here. A second later he lands a scream on me while I am in my iframes as well so there is no question there is desync between me and this player.
Nothing knew, been like this since day 1. Brimstone just brought a lot of desync issues back into the game that had been greatly improved. Loads of abilities don’t work properly, ice storm constantly drops at the users feet even though you casted it off in the distance. Ice tomb bugs out all the time, you do the full animation go into tomb, then are seemly ripped out of it and take damage or die and have to try to re active tomb. Tomb also fizzles out, where you go into it then it just removes you instantly and it goes in cooldown. So many other abilities have bugs, sometimes fireballs hit directly and do no damage. Fireballs activate on the hitbox of dead players. Every weapon has issues and AGS is incapable of fixing them.
Leaping Strike is broken in many bad ways, the worst I have seen is a Leaping Strike in Arena that takes me next to one of the pillars only to pull me back to the original position I was when I cast the ability. Positional Desync on Leap has been bad since the early 2022 patch that buffed it, most often related to fast your character is moving and how sluggish the server is to catch up with where you are which is clownish. Between that and getting stuck again on the corners of pillars, the desync has been atrocious everywhere regardless of how isolated you are on this buggy game.
SnS Main here. This has been in the game since they reworked the tracking on Leaping Strike. So way longer than Brimstone its been like this since before skitzo was even “Meta” and one shotting everyone.
As far the people saying he got hit in iframe, its because he shortened his dodge roll animation with an ability (which in turn shortens the iframe). If he held a directional key and didn’t try to shrap blast he would of got the full iframe and the leaping strike would of missed. Alot of people don’t realize that the iframe lengths are different depending on how you hold the directional keys/cancel the roll/iframe with and ability or left click.
I recently started to use melee weapons and I have yet to land a SnS leap from the “top ropes,” like off a cliff or outpost. Glad to know it’s not 100% my fault for being bad, hah.
sometimes u will only know if u hit the target after half a second.
classic OPR leaping strike is to chase someone running up to 2nd floor of the fort, u leaping via the stairs, hit him, but doesnt do dmg, u auto x2 hit him again, still no dmg.
then suddenly u r teleported to ground floor corner, then find urself surrounded by 5+ brusiers and stuned to death.
