Leaving if GS increase goes through

This is an mmo, it SHOULD take a lot of time. Getting to 60 lvl right now is a matter of week with all the gear available on the TP for cheap.
It “feels like grind” hell yeah it does, it has to feel like grind because people want to grind. You seem to feel entitled to the progression that would fit you best. Which is the not case this time because this game does introduce a basic amount of grinding.
It cannot be compared however to asian mmos where grinding for hours every days for MONTHS is a norm.
Maybe you should reconsider your game attitude and playstyle or just go back to gw2 or wow that you seem to look for?

Maybe I’m wrong, but I would imagine people want to have fun playing a game? Even if some games are a grind, that grind can be fun. And I would love gw2 or wow if their combat systems were better. But as it currently stands, it seems like we have to choose one or the other.

There’s also this separate issue where the fastest way to “grind” in this game is buying stuff off the AH and turning it in for XP for townboard quests, which to me, isn’t really the main point of a game with such a good combat system and territory control system. And then when you reach 60, the “grind” then becomes running the same 2 dungeons over and over, or going en-mass zerging opening loot boxes. If you don’t do those, you sacrifice progression speed, which to me seems like a bad choice to have to make.

Finally let’s be real, getting to 60 is only like 10% of the grind. The real grind is getting BiS legendary gear which I’m pretty sure most people even at 700 hours aren’t at.

Normally I’d agree with you but the way they are implementing this forced bs umbral shard grind is braindead. Sorry. I like grinding, but this is actual apeing.

Or didnt buy and equip before the January patch goes live. Reason gear has gone up in price will all fall after patch .

What would you tell anyone who isn’t 60 yet, or are considering starting the game? Your answer works for those of us who are already at this point, but new players will not want to start a game like this. Like, I shouldn’t feel bad trying to get friends to play a game, but I do with this one, knowing what they’ll have to go through.

Honestly new players don’t have it as bad as current players who have grinded 599 because they can just stack money before buying that good gear instead of grinding for worthless shit for 2 months straight and having to replace it all out of the blue.

I would like to wait ~2 more months for the GS increase…
I playes 1k hours and I dont have any real BiS items now xD Crafting a lot, going in Chest Runs a lot, going Expeditions a lot… Having 140k coins and a lot of mats, still I dont have any Item, that I would like to bring to 625 now…

Just release 5 lvl of mutations for now and dont raise the GS :slight_smile:
Raise it with new dungeons and a new area and bring the next difficulty for the mutations at this time.

Would be a better timing. This is even stressing me, and I played this game way too much xD For casuals its way too early…

The 30-60 grind is real for casuals. (Especially as there are so many things gated behind being 60)
But it is only the tip of the iceberg.

Do we now get a new system for each GS increase and where will the increase stop? 800, 1000, 1500?

Why can’t we just play the game and have fun playing?
No, instead we need to do chores to be able to enjoy PvP (otherwise power creep) and PvE (otherwise locked out because of elitarism and ignoring low GS people) content.

Nothing is gated being 60…spam side quests to 60 boom easy. Agree with everything else though

This is a good implementation though because the upgrades require 0 RNG and full 625 gives 4% armor efficiency increase compared to 600 gs. Want to see the real grind? try BDO

My problem isn’t with the implementation, it’s with how soon the GS increase is coming in relation to the launch of the game. If they were really motivated to make the game better, then they would replace what we currently have with this, or make umbral shards give expertise increases to 600, not up the max GS.

All they have to do is make umbral shards usable on 590+ gear and it’s fine.

gear score is the one thing EVERYONE knew would increase over time as it does in any other mmo so saying u dont wanna play if they do is the same as stating you wont play any mmo longer than a few months.

It is not soon though, it has been over 3 months and as seen in other threads, some people have already reached multiple gold caps and have to buy other accounts to store their money…
People want progress and it is not a bad idea to give them that. Noone says that everyone has to be at full 625 just like noone have said that everyone needs to be full 600 to compete. The difference is just 4% and only a few will compete for it so i don’t see how this change is gamebreaking in any way and it gives those at the top any way of progressing further.

GS will increase further too in the next patches. What is a good thing though is that the items we are using right now might be still useful since AGS chose the upgrade way, not the “drop it again” way.

600 gear is legendary so that wouldn’t work. Unless you wanted to use a 600 gs, 2 perk item. I have crafted a lot of items at 599 2 perk which would have been a good legendary but lacked this 1 gs to be a really good item. If you could skip that legendary rolling then crafting gear would be way too easy

Game started feeling for me like a second job now and i hope this patch wont make it because i guess i will just quit then. After 1000 hours of playtime i finally reached 590 and now they want to increase again…why not let me enjoy it now at least for some months. Increasing GS is not the way to go. You are just stretching content.
Game has major problems and needs performance/bug fixes. Player numbers go down day by day and new players are not coming.
Instead AGS just decides to punish remaining old players with another new cap…
Oh and the rewards for playing PvP are still super trash. OPR chests are a joke and same for wars. Give us Umbral Shards for playing OPR.
There are 7 types of gypsum from PvE and only 1 type from PvP…
At least delete cap of two rubys gypsum per day from OPR then and let me get as many as i play OPR and remove cooldown on the Ruby Gypsum cast i can craft per day.
A game is supposed to be fun and not a second job that is limiting me in everthing i do.

Sure it would… Upon umbral sharing 599 to 600 the piece would gain a 3rd random perk. I get what you mean about crafting but this whole system is shit the way its implemented

I wouldnt assume it would gain a perk.

Right now, you can get a 600 green. If they allow you to bump 599 gear, there’s nothing to assume it would also bump up in rarity.
