Legacy of Crassus

Ya I would love some crazy Greta unique drops that are so rare that only a few people on the server have them. Like I genuinely use to love the grind of Laz bow and WoTA before umbral allowed you to upgrade. It was a full grind (minus the orbs being dumb) genuinely can get any item in this game in under like 12 hours of grind

3.5k and consolidate into 2 servers speaking specifically for NA East

Ok, thanks for the direct response that indicates you’ll never be satisfied since 3.5k on a single server isn’t happening.

Sure since AGS has stated that they couldn’t handle higher than 2-2.5k server pop without instability. Doesn’t mean I’m not gonna tell you what I would like to see

Sure - and thanks for answering directly.

I get it; for people who don’t want to deal with gathering resources, resource prices, and who don’t care about rising gear prices as resource scarcity hits I can see where overflowing server pops would be welcome.

More than 1,000 which is what my server peaks at rn.

1000 players sounds cool and all but in reality that just means I see the same like 40ish people running around all the time.

Why are we acting like they would never improve things? I know its AGS but they’ve talked about instanced resources before in dev videos. If they increased server caps and put instanced resources that only requires 2 fixes. They wouldnt do one without doing the other.

Yep. I know this is what these “bosses” are going to be too. Just like the Halloween event boss, just like the Winter event boss.
Boring, zerg-able.

World bosses and elite PoI NEED to be instanced. All people do is zerg them and get drops that are unearned. It would be much more fun if it were a challenge and we were properly rewarded.

I hated Turkulon. It was easily the most boring of them all, for me. I had to slog it to get the full 14 or whatever to get the trophy.

Well tomorrow Empress releases the hogwarts crack so… im gonna be off for a few weeks. Good luck with the copypasta event (hope it’s not, but…) See you guys after balance. Or maybe not, if HL has enough mods to keep me entertained as Skyrim did back in the day up till today, well, it’s been a pleasure.

What was different about this event.

they don’t survive long enough for us to even get to them. Waste of time even trying to take part.

Sorry mate, this is really not a strong event at all. What’s the point if we don’t give them feedback so they know about it?

Christmas event was very good. Halloween event was pretty good. Both suffered from the same zerg problem that invalidates so much of AGS’s good quality content (they put all the effort in that you speak of but it’s pointless when it’s just zerged content).

This event is just really bad. It suffers from the same zerg issue but the rewards are genuinely really low quality. At least the Halloween event had a neat mechanic that you had to do to win.

I can feel sorry for the devs putting the efforts into building these bosses, sure. It’s wasted. Not because of people complaining here (we have every right to, I wish people on the forums would stop trying to stop it) but because they design these bosses with mechanics in place to challenge us and forget to limit how many of us can obliterate it. But why should I feel sorry for them when we keep telling them that we don’t want zerg content? Chest zergs have been in the game since day one: you do not have to design your game to support this at all. We keep telling them yet they ignore it and just build events in a way that the only efficient method is to pile huge numbers into it. Therefore, that is how the content is consumed.

I honestly couldn’t tell you how this event is done. I see flags, easy to kill adds, a Signifer and two Cylops. I think there’s some mechanic hidden in there. But I don’t need to know it. I just left click with the other 50 players until everything is dead in about 3 minutes. Not fantastic rewards and a daily limit of one. OK so I need only run this once.

Good luck getting a zerg for this one every day now that everyone knows it’s only worth running once. Because you’re not going to get the perfect “10-15 guys” the devs naiively estimated would be required to take the event on. That won’t happen, either. Why would it? There’s literally nothing forcing that to happen.

Why haven’t devs cottened on yet that their game is a zerg magnet and done something about it? They literally have control over this, it is their game. Yet they just seem to accept that zerg is how it is and even pretend it’s fun; they do chest zergs! It is now a fully acknowledged part of the game! Why bother even building entire elite areas when they’re just zergs? Might as well just line up 8 glyph chests in a row with the bags from the mobs that some people get to kill enroute neatly lined up on the floor and all you need to do to unlock it is turn up with 30-80 players. Elite areas are functionally no different from that. Nor are these event bosses. The Halloween one was an exception but, honestly, even that one could be done by just mindlessly zerging if you had enough numbers. But kudos to the designers for at least trying to make it work in a way that forced some sort of collaboration. It still did nothing to limit zergs though; it just resulted in thirty players throwing pumpkins instead of a solid 5-10 group working together to complete a challenging event that rewards them appropriately. Or a small solo event that’s fun for small groups to take part in.

It doesn’t need to be this way; arena events and expeditions are mostly really strong content, challenging and fun to take part in. It’s OK for us to tell them that this is what we like and that we don’t like mindless zerg content (which makes up a huge, huge portion of the game’s overworld content). Despite the fact they appear to not listen to it.

As much as the open world bosses are fun for an hour or so every few months they are added, there isnt any real reason to repeat the content. The drops are lame, the boss gets zerged and the rewards are unfulfilling and not worth the time.

For these events there should be a quest path to the location of the theme of the fight (lore wise) that opens up a limited time instanced arena boss fight that a group of 5 can go in and do for reward points that can be spent at a quest shop/npc that you can use your rewards to buy high end craft mods/patterns. Once we get Raid groups of 20 in the game these can be expanded to higher raids and more challenging fights for 4 groups. Zerging a world boss is boring af at this point. AGS really need to look at other MMOs and take some inspiration

I just dont understand why they cant make something scale in difficulty by how many players are in the area with aggro.

The rewards for Halloween and Christmas were great. Halloween somewhat less so. But the fight (Baal) was actually fun to do, even with a lot of players, whereas the winter warrior was just spammy and annoying and very, very, very slow if you didn’t have a zerg. Still though… I wish they’d just get the message… I do not want zerg fights.

I don’t think I’m alone.

They have the blueprint for great events already in the arenas (sirens, protector or monaecous). These are cool little encounters that are challenging enough but can be ran in 5-10 minutes and require a group. Sometimes fewer than 5 can do it too.

All they need to do is offer more of that for these events. Sign up with 1-20 players and the event scales both difficullty and rewards based on that. Done. Just imagine this Crassus event in an arena where any number of players from 1 up to 20 could take part, at any of the various locations around the world, as often as required per day.

Fun. Challenging. Rewarding. No zerg.
