Legal dupe still ongoing

I understand how the changes made to taxes recently have caused economic disruption on some servers. This feedback has been forwarded to the Game Team to further their awareness.

ECONOMIC DISRUPTION!? On the server I play Windsward and Everfall cleared over 4m gold in taxes LAST WEEK ALONE!!! Good games have “gold syncs” to REMOVE gold from the games to make the economy stable… NOT PRODUCE GOLD FROM NOTHING!!!

syncs?

cringe

All gold is produced from “nothing”.

picture this…at least 1 company on our server is paying their members $35,000 coins per week just for being members… Try competing with that when buying ANYTHING on the market. Try competing with this in wars where they have the ultimate gear/perks/food etc etc etc etc. You have to be insanely dense if you don’t see that this is a problem.

Wow, if a game hurts you this bad stop playing. You know there are in game options to take territories, right?

Picture this: Under “normal” circumstances they get that money anyway and EVERYONE else is much poorer because they are paying the full tax.

The problem is the system AS DESIGNED, not this “legal dupe” that the OP is crying about.

Under the current circumstances everyone else is ACTUALLY better off because they aren’t paying full taxes.

You have to be insanely dense if you don’t understand this. (not really, misunderstanding economics is pretty common)

I agree (and said as much) that so much wealth being funneled into the hands of so few is problematic, but the fact that this gold is currently being “made from thin air” is a moot point because they would be getting the same amount anyway.

edit: Also this:

The people selling those things can compete, this is also good for those of us who gather or make consumables. Again, I am not saying the system isn’t broken, just that the complaints of the OP and his concern that it is “destroying the economy” are unfounded.

There is a wealth gap, which means there is a power gap but that has NOTHING to do with the current tax “tweaks”. It is the result of the system being broken at its core.

Yea well this game has a bottom heavy economy. New players can mine iron or trees and make tons of gold now.

Im not saying that the taxes shouldnt be fixed to not generate extra money… but if you guys dont think that all territory owners wont just leave it at 20% you’re jaded. Once they tasted that sweet tax money theyll never let it go and now that they have the gear advantage youll never take it from em.

Your looking at this all wrong. Sell everything now while the price is jacked up. Two weeks after they patch it back to normal the gold will all disappear into housing costs like last time and everything’s prices will drop to shit. then buy it all back at 1/2 the cost. There is no reason you should be left out of the profits you just need to do a little market speculation.

lol… you have your repairs for gold so… when population drops after merges people will be poor again… so you will be happy again…

You can clearly tell which of the posters in this thread are part of a windsward/everfall owning company on a high pop server.

So much hostility.

But it is understandable when you’re making a living off of RWT those coins like what is happening in Rocabarra server at least $$$$$$$.

Other than that, there is literally no justification for defending this game breaking bug/exploit.

I have neither the time nor the crayons to explain this to you, and how completely misinformed you are. Good day sir

I think there may be some egos, hurt egos, hurt feelings, and hurt pocket books involved. The pyramid scheme founded on a corrupt 3 months of exploited/cheated/bugged platform is about as fun as asking you to maim me.

To be honest, kinda dont think they even removed coins from previous dupes… atleast not all of them. Because I know quiet a few people that have multiple copies of NW on differen steam accounts, just to trade coins to alt because they reached coin cap. I mean, it is possible to farm that legit way, but on server peaking around 1k it is discussed in global like absolutely normal thing, it is kinda worrying…

But yea, back to topic… its just f*ing nonsense… cant even think of reason why AGS thought it would be good idea to reduce taxes for ppl but keep income for companies unchanged… but I think that this picture sums it up pretty well…

This has actually been really good for the economy on my server. Before we had a massive deflation problem now the economy seems healthy.

Basically yes.

They were trying to make up for the downtime occurring from down servers, but also when certain aspects of game mechanics were shut down.

^^^^ This!

That’s what owning cities are good for. Not much else.

Aside from the unnecessary ad hominem this is a pretty straightforward reply to the OP’s complaint.

The statement is not perfect just solid. So rebuttal should be made in the form of cogent and if necessary personally restrained replies.

Conspiracy theories will get you far in life

Are you really trying to use difficult words to look intelligent and in an attempt to support a troll?

That doesn’t work.

Admitting you have a hard time reading is a strange flex.

The use of language you are referring to has been with me since childhood.

People confuse a large vocabulary with a number of things. First some think it indicates intelligence. This is not the case because intelligence may need memory, but memory doesn’t define it.

Because of the first assumption another cadre of people believe that the use of words that are not commonly used signals the speaker as being prideful. In my case at least while it has been enjoyable to have a larger vocabulary than possibly necessary it is also a detriment to social interactions.

The second assumption accompanies a general suspicion of people who appear to be intelligent. Particularly here in the US for some reason anyone who is knowledgeable is suspect.

Yet knowledge is not intelligence it’s just knowledge. The use of that knowledge is what creates brilliant life defining insights.

So no I am not intelligent and attempting to lord it over people or pull their chains to watch them dance. I am smart enough though to recognize intelligence when I see it.

Responses like your’s have caused me in the past to purposefully limit my vocabulary. Being older now I’d rather be myself before I die than someone else’s version.
