As for those many of us who have lost an abundance of materials… the only solution would be for them to finally add a new crafting perk (+5 whatever crafted level) to rings. Then bam 600 gearscore is possible if you get all your ducks in a row. But still gotta fight the system to get that BiS 3 perk exactly as you want.

These two faced AGS developers even had the AUDACITY to mention during their developer stream that they “understood our frustration and will aid how they can”, but yet just only throw more hidden scam nerfs without stating it out loud like a proper developer team should. Just tossing our mats in the trash can and then also removing legendary crafting under the radar is not okay.
We deserve ring perks that increase crafted item levels +5. We are sick and tired of the bs not being able to just craft higher odds of legendary. The runestone stopwatch is a failed concept entirely, 1 per day? haha clearly these developers haven’t tried obtaining great or bis items because you’re not getting geared at all with the rate of 1 roll a day.

Trust me, I’m not happy about this one bit. I just found out you could upgrade the shiny purple items to 600 to make them legendary, but found out today that flipping named shield that was dropped in Gen did not turn legendary… How the heck do i know if an item will go gold or not?
Check new world database to find out.
Mostly it’s everything except shield you get an extra perk.
You can’t craft legendary shields since the Brimstone update. Before Brimstone, you could craft with stopwatches, but now you need RNG gods to smile when you’re looting chests and bosses. So they’re still lootable (super rare), but not craftable

They removed the ability for legendary to exist ingame anymore to my knowledge. This would be why you’re not able to make any.

I think the never really intended for shields to be legendary, the ones that drop in the open world are most likely a fluke. When they introduced stop watches I believe there was a way to craft them, but they patched it out.
Very early in the game some shields did have gem slots, but again they never meant for those to be like that, hence they were removed.
Could be wrong, but, 7 perks for leg sword and shield seems abit OP 
Just so the developers are aware:
Legendary shields aren’t impossible to obtain, apparently mutated dungeons can very rarely drop them. I seriously believe that shield crafting is just bugged and they actually have no idea that it’s broken.

Yep, it was wholly intentional that they made the change. In all honesty this was a stealth nerf and really pissed me off since it went live without ever showing up on any of the PTR patch notes. I had been crafting runestone shields since the update they were implemented trying for my idea legendary and selling the shields that didn’t come out how I wanted. Thankfully I kept one that is palatable but I would of put a lot more energy into grinding to craft the shield I wanted had I known this change was coming.
They can’t go back and take them away from people who have them now - the uproar would be tremendous but it’s also not fair for them not allow others now to not be able to get them as easily.
They should of just left it completely alone. I understand it’s a balancing issue in PVP but realistically legendary tower shields could of been a great bone to throw tanks as an exclusive and not allow legendries of other weights.

its actually ludicious they removed legendary crafting as people who already have them, will forever be head of everyone else.
Oh, you’d be surprised with the amount of items that were never removed and are bugged as hell, like the +30int+30foc firestaff and other weapons.
Act fast, exploit fast, get your things fast, get away with it.
