So I just got my sword in the epic weapons questline only to find that I have to do 8 more quests for the shield. Im not sure I understand. Why do tanks or S&B players have to complete 2 complete questlines since the shield can only be worn with a sword?
Agreed and the Sword is pretty trash also. Shield is pretty good but the sword is almost not worth it.
Yes it is total trash. I’m a Con tank, I dont even use the ability the sword supposedly buffs. im beginning to think these devs are dumb as bricks.

Ya shield is a pure tanking shield and the sword is a offensive DPS sword with a Int Gem in it. its about the stupidest set ive seen Should have been a tanking set. there are a million sword that drop you can DPS with and no one really uses SS for DPS anyways.
Nope, im on one of the NE servers. And to boot there are no groups to even do these quests because the population is so low and the game has no type of group finder. This is a joke.

This is remedial BS. Wouldnt it reflect better to have a choice between a dps or tanking sword and shield set? WTF. This is silly MMO staple stuff that has been implemented for decades. Are NW Devs that obtuse?
Theres also a quest for a round shield but I wouldnt bother.
If your a SS DPS build Id suggest going for the Cutlass Cutter however it requires you to Kill Avrice at the end of the Eternal Pool in reekwater in the Arena and he is very hard. You need a solid group to do the fight. Its a quest chain about as long as the Epic weapon quest chain and Gives you a legendary 570+ sword.
I think it either starts in Cutlass or Reekwater and Unlocks at level 56.
What is that one called? Might be worth a look at the stats atleast
Some good new with all the bad changes coming from the PTR there are people holding shields with Gem slots in them so you can Slot Carnielan Gems. This would Be Massive for Tanks and open a world of opportunities for us to use a secondary stat.
The quest is Forging Boundless Ward I believe. you get it in SM.

To Start All the Epic Weapon Quest you need to make sure you do all the quest in Great Cleave. They will run you over to eden grove for a few quest then the Epic weapon quest will unlock after that. You also need to be level 20 in the weapon you want to quest for.
To bad the TOWER shield looks more like a kite shield…such a disappointment.
Ya I was not happy when I equipt it. It just looks kinda like a slightly large kite shield
