Hi there,
This topic has been discussed in the past here Let us select faction missions
Truth is, one of the side effects of low population servers, such as the problem that is described here: EU Servers need merge ASAP! - #96 by Lubenko is that as we can’t really choose the missions, some of them are impossible for us to complete as solo players.
For example: Eradicate (PVP) or Purge: The Lazarus Instrumentality (PVE)
As currently we have many servers with under 100 players, you can imagine already it’s nearly impossible to find anyone to fight against (Eradicate), or anyone to run an expedition such as Lazarus.
Independently on server population, the ability to choose just the missions that I feel more comfortable with, increases a lot our game experience, I can join a game and do exactly what I enjoy, even without playing I can already start planning my gaming time, and on your end you can collect data, analysing and understanding how players are experiencing your game. Furthermore, when playing with friends all of us would be able to choose the same mission, hence enjoying even more the game together.
On top of that, I feel that by introducing a random element, we are either forced to discard missions that we can’t (or don’t want to) complete until a good one pops or just ignore this part of the content, with an increased risk of losing interest in the game itself. Think about it in this way: By knowing we can’t complete them, these aren’t challenges anymore, these are doors that the player simply can’t open.
Would love to hear your thoughts on this.
Thanks for reading so far and all the efforts behind the scenes ![]()
