What is proposed here will be much stronger and create an even more broken meta as then.
This might be pretty cool as long as you couldn’t double up on abilities. Like you couldn’t have 2 grav wells. You could only have one of each ability. The devs would also have to revamp a lot of the abilities that are pretty crappy.

I talk exactly about this situation, if you choose two equal skills, they would go on cd together, so you don’t have this problem.
Yes you did. I will be honest and I skim read because I am busy atm but the thread was intriguing to me.
New weapons can be tuned quite differently than two weapons of the same type.
Look at GA or WH and tell me it wouldn’t be OP to use both skill trees.
honestly I think the GA/WH combination is stronger than the “duplicated” version of each one, because both GA and WH have bad skill and in my suggestion, you would end up getting it, which would “balance” the combination.

Macro abusers would abuse it like they did before.
I would rather your weapon combo unlock a fourth, high impact ability (kind of like creating a class). So spear/bow would have a different 4th ability than rapier/bow.
A lot more work, but cool.

That would really be amazing! But it would have to completely overhaul the game’s weapon system.
Datamine already says that Daggers is one handed and will be dual wielding,I see a stone player statue one of the aeternum stories video who has shield&hatchet on his hand, so I think one-handed weapons already designed like that.
Edit: We can see rapier&pistol mixup when it released.

The only problem is whether the weapon buffs would still be active when “swapping” the weapon that is actually the same.
For example, BB has buffs that are deactivated when changing the weapon, but would remain active when activating the other build. That would be a pretty big advantage.
You’re right and that’s why my suggestion comes with a CD set for situations like these. Both abilities and passives that have DC. Also, if you switch to your “page 2” of talents, and you don’t have the talent in question, obviously its effect wears off, as with any other weapon.
