Let's talk about Blackguard FS

Maybe we should first talk about healing, it is OP in this game. If youre attempting a 1v2 in OPR and just one of the opponents is a healer it’s just better to turn around. Why you may ask? Because anybody with a pocket healer is nearly impossible to kill if they are at least half way competent.

Then Tempest came. I thought this was the dugeon that would help end the healer issue. Most weapons dropped with plagued crits/strikes. One of the best weapons to drop was the Blackguard Firestaff and it had plagued strikes. This was huge! Plagued Crits is alright but it was very situational, but strikes… Finally they give some relief with all the VG nerfs. Mages would have a way to actually help deal with all these healers.

Now AGS is fixing it. Why? Is it really all that OP? Maybe. Would it help deal with healers/ off healers? Hell yeah. With coming 3v3s we would actually see some sort of variety in builds. Players may not have actually ran S+S/LF combos. Now i figure its gonna be running deep with the melee m1 spammers with back bar lifestaff and one main healer.

GG AGS. You almost had me fooled that you were figuring out how to balance shit and not let the 3v3s become the same group combo in every match.

Yep, was actually having fun in tempest because me as a mage finally had a good pvp-wep that could drop and something to aim and grind for. Not anymore I guess. Why only melee should have controlled healing reduction is pure bad gamedesign. FS is useless in pvp as it is, and is also getting bullied in pve since mutations only have magic resist lul…

Its definitely not useless in pvp but there are unfortunately better builds to go for… And of course its still GA. Yeah I dont get it I really thought AGS realized thier balancing needed some work. This FS literally brought the FS into a reeeeaaaallly good spot since you have alright burst with not an anti heal! Nah instead GAs get it while they have a charge, root, and really dirty damage.

Did they removed plaq strikes on mage weapons? You got a link? Mage already feels pretty useless, only oblivion and ice shower is a reason to still play mage…

Idk what change you’re referencing but FS does just fine.

So plague strikes werent originally suppose to be on any of the ranged weps. However with the tempest update, we got named IG and FS that both had it. Its been very useful since VGs scream got a huuuuuuuge nerf and mages dont currently have a good way to deal with the OP heals.

Just saying FS would be good if burning wasnt able to be removed by a healer or anything that removes a debuff.

Why don’t they just change the burn stack on FS? Instead of dealing 6% weapon damage per stack, max of 5 for 30% weapon damage why don’t they have an exponential stack at the end?

It could be the heal negater and overtime tank killer. So every 5 stacks turns into a stack of 1% max health burn for 5 seconds. Doubles every 5 stacks.

With flamethrower you can apply stacks every half second, it would take 2.5 seconds to cause a 1% max health burn and the original burn is put at 1 stack so you only need 4 more to apply another stack.

2.5 seconds = 1% max health
4.5 seconds = 2% max health
6.5 seconds = 4% max health
8.5 seconds = 8% max health
10.5 seconds = 16% max health
12.5 seconds = 32% max health per second for 5 seconds which should almost gaurantee they die due to doing 160% of their max health over 5 seconds ontop of other damage.

Obviously have a cap in dungeons though for PvE and have it be PvP only.

Insta Healing Spells should only work on another allie and not on yourself… healer should be able to heal themselves with AOE heal and potions and food like the rest of the playerbases

If heals is OP get better, thats it. I play heal and i can tell you there are 2 kind of DDS.

A) dds that kill you in a eye blink

B) DDs where you can play 5 vs 1 and nobody is able to cc you.

So what is the difference between those DDS ?

How are they changing it now, any links??

Lol bud I may not be the best pvper but I spank more then I take. No idea what the fuck DDs means. I can tell you with all the dodges and such any competent healer will be able to outlast most if not all damage your able to output. Specially since they took burst from IG.

keep the Blackguard Firestaff where it is.

stop trying to destroy something that can hurt ur plateau gameplay

Totally agree

I wish they would just give us healing reduction abilities… But not for the STR weapons, they are already op enough and good for any scenario. Give it to the dex players and mages so other builds could be competitive too not just monkey brain 300str GA lmb spamming.
