I can agree with you. It does more damage than melee imo if you talk autos mainly. I’d say it’s about even but with tracking being ass it does more. If they didn’t run just as fast as normal run speed with all the haste I would say it’s balanced.
I wouldn’t be opposed to adding a skill layer to it… Change skill perk to 15% Leeching for better duelling but not as fast movement so positioning becomes harder and require more thought.
Was doing some damage testing today, IGs chilling winds also does more dps than FT, which is funny, but it’s still slow, interrupted by haste(on live) and has a cooldown
When the PTR patch comes in with keen and haste fix, it will be fast while in frosted areas, get 40% haste while in a 5m radius and be a better FT for all of 3s
on a side note the push from chilling winds is so fun when on walls, just casually blow people off
Dont bother. I showed the guy videos with a mage owning with FT, FB, Burnout and IG stuff. He says … that doesnt count because he is in med armor and med armor is not mage its bruiser.
As far as I know the term ‘bruiser’ applies to physical and/or melee damage. Tanky mages are disruptors? Something like that.
In any case he’s a dum dum
I think it should have a 3-4 sec CD. I’ve been messing with it without the no cooldown perk and its base CD is stupidly long, but 2 secs seems too short. You would still be able to FT > roll > FB > FT in about 2 seconds.
Perhaps the perk should be changed to just reduce the CD by half (so down to 4 from the base 8) instead of completely removing it then Refreshing would be necessary to further reduce it.
Light melee is only called a bruiser because the mitigation between light armor, medium and heavy is garbage AF when paired with ABS cap.
Equipload more or less ='s rend resistance rather than anything else with the availability of Fortify being rampant.
Shirking Fortification ruined the balance and gems don’t help.
If you want to light armor to have the ability to get 60% capped ABS with gems and fortify brings it even further then they need a brand new set of gems for heavy or give gems different effects on heavy armor because heavy armor only gains 5% or so effective ABS from gems and anything after that only counters rend and isn’t effective ABS.
Light armor with Full Shirking = ABS cap on one dodge proc.
That’s why you ONLY see heavy armor in wars because they actually run comps to rend and weaken with VG’s everywhere.
ABS is Absorption (Total Damage Mitigation)
Anyways, bruisers are tanky damage dealers not close quarters fighters.
Assassin’s are close quarter fighters but schizo’s aren’t called bruisers because they’re not.
Heavy Armor with Full Shirking and Gems is about equal to 85% ABS so it requires 25% Rend in order to effectively rend a heavy armor user.
Arguably can be called control mages rather than bruisers. They’re main focus is Buffs/Debuffs/CC.
But in a sense could be called bruiser as they do side pocket some damage.
Voidblade medium could be considered a bruiser, I think that would really about it. I’d call anything else a control mage but it can be interpreted in many ways.
Disruptor is the word you’re looking for my man. Medium mage most of the time doesnt have the dmg to oneshot someone (unless they are low already or very little con) but what they can do is disrupt the flow of the fight and live to tell the tale - hence the name.
Medium mage is actually one of my favourite builds. Its not about killing people but pissing them off instead. For instance bypassing the frontlane, annoying the healers and since youre medium you’re less likely to get oneshotted if more than 1 dps nearby turns on you. Rinse and repeat.
The satysfing part is when enough healers get not low enough to die but enough to heal themselves instead which gives that small window for your team to push. I like it.
flamethrOPR is now happening on Maramma. Teams are using 2-3 flamethrowers with a bruiser to hold someone and just stand there to burn them down. It’s really stupid.
I don’t see anything wrong with that. It’s essentially “don’t get caught”. If they just stop nerfing tanks all the damn time, it would have amazing synergy with them.
