Lets talk about Property Taxes

The other side of that is that housing seems really cheap compared to other games to be fair.

I’d love this. Co-ownership would be cool.

gold is way too easy to get in this game. Property taxes are fine. You also have location standing where you can choose to decrease that cost further. Its a free Recall every 2-4 hours and you can reset the cooldown for a minute amount of Azoth. Property taxes are not that bad compared to what you receive as a benefit to having the house (dont forget extra storage either. thats worth the tax alone.)

Except that people wouldnt upgrade at all lol. They would just continue to use the central zones. My my server the only non tier 2 crafting towns are everfall and windsward. Every other town is T2. No reason to go to other towns when the central markets are dirt cheap.

Nah tax discount is permanent for your first house.

If you dont play the game and miss a taxing period, your house stand on “hold until payed”.
As you dont play, it doesnt matter to you that you cant use its benefits.

The only question I didnt find an answer to is, wheter tax continues to build up, or is also put in hold until you payed it (I guess it will be put on hold, so you dont run into evergrowing ingame debts).

In that case, thank you for the clarification. I thought it only applied to the first week.

As far as the other thread goes, it seems there is no discount on taxes.

@baron.arown - good points, it would be fair to take the average which is probably around 5-10% tax which would still create a very aggressive base tax rate. I feel the base tax cost is too high (distracting the % that can be altered)

I think my bigger issue is around the frequency. I wouldn’t mind paying the current tax rate if it was on a monthly basis (similar to how rent or mortgage is typically paid). Why are your thoughts on the current frequency?

This is incorrect. Only your first week of taxes is discounted.

The 50% discount on the house applies to the tax as well. the tax is calculate based on what you paid on the house!

The UI is suggesting different, thats why this topic is on question.

Have you already paid taxes?
Im just curious because on purchase I was seeing discount whereas on property I dont see it anymore.
Anyway I can afford, I just want clarification from any available official staff.

Agree, the prices are waaay too high. Low tax rate (5%) should be the max, not the min. Not to mention the owning faction of a town is making a fortune on property taxes enabling them expansion with little to no effort in terms of gathering more gold.

I have not paid taxes yet but from videos i’ve seen and guides ive read on housing it seems to be the case

I don’t foresee getting a house anytime soon. Seems ridiculous to pay taxes for a teleport when you can just use azoth. Way too inflated. Feels like highway robbery and I really hope it get reworked. Yes I understand all the trophies and what not but still seems not worth my hard earned cash.

Also, if you even go with the cheapest option thats like a teleport every 4 hours. Thats like once or twice at most during your playtime. Using a bit of azoth is suddenly more attractive.

Also with the tax system, heaven forbid you have a real life and go on vacation for a few weeks… All that is going to do is create a sense of dread when you come home and are ready to game.

P.S. I dont want to play a video game that makes me feel like I am in debt, thats real world shit I try to escape lol.

the second i read “IN THE REAL WORLD”…its as video game chill

You can reset house teleport for a small amount of Azoth, that is shrinking as the cooldown passes by. It is much cheaper than using regular teleport, as it doesnt factor in weight and distance + is available without any shrine.

That’s why you should always get Zone EXP and Property tax reduction.

Me feeling like I’m going to jail for paying 300g tax on my 20k house.

Also for people saying too much money.

Houses are meant as a tool for crafters.

Meaning that yes, the guys who make money.

I don’t mind paying 2k a week when I can make 40k a day with the help my house provide.

Because turns out trophies are broken, also having 4k + storage in a city is nice

Also beeing able to set crafting hubs is really important having distant houses so you can have good tps is really nice ( What I did was 1 Monarch 1 Restless and 1 Brightwood, So I had acess to the entire map).

Literally not worth thousands of gold when you can go top your azoth off from doing corruption for 15 minutes
