Something has occurred to me. Something which I believe would help the game feel fairer if it were changed. When I play ranged in PvP, or watch others play ranged, it always feels odd that we can aim using the red diamond above their head even if you can’t actually see the player.
I appreciate that we need a marker to identify enemies in PvP (especially in open world), but it feels wrong to give away the position of a player who you can’t actually see. It means that certain kinds of cover (bushes for example) are effectively useless. Removing the icon if someone is not visible probably isn’t a viable option performance wise, but you could add some “momentum” to the icon so that it doesn’t sit exactly above an enemies head all the time.
What do you all think about this? I feel like a change here could make PvP more fun. Penny for your thoughts.
Something as simple as making the whole thing center aligned instead of left aligned with the diamond right above the head may be enough. Center aligned and everyone’s name being different and thus a different length = the position would be different.
Perhaps a quick bandaid idea until something better can be done.
I think this is fair. Even a simple change like this would make a ranged character have to aim at the actual player, rather than “just below the red diamond”. I wouldn’t mind how it was achieved.
