Been playing for a few weeks now and thoroughly enjoying myself, probably the most fun I’ve had on a game in years.
However, I’m now starting to get to a point where the quests are getting a bit harder, the bosses I have to kill within some of these quests is difficult, which is absolutely fine (not expecting them to all be super easy) but I just wonder if I’ve got something wrong with my build/setup?
Currently running a hatchet and a hammer with a full strength build basically, I find that the damage I do is great but I really struggle against higher level opponents and keep eventually ending up dead, I’m using potions and food but not having loads of success.
Are there any better builds I can be looking at? better foods? I’m not really sure, anything that can be helpful I’d appreciate.
Lifestaff + Hatchet , all points into focus, when hit 100 start pushing Con.
In the End 150 Foc, 50 Con
LS skills i use are: Sacred Ground, Orb of Protection (for some dmg against mobs and to buff the tank in a grp.), Beacon.
make sure you get the extra healing when needed when you dodge and/ or do 3 heavy attacks with staff, both are passive skills.
Use medium Armor or heavy if you want, your healing is decreased, but with dodge and heavy att. you can more than compensate this.
Hatchet goe full Berserker and then the left skill idk the name actually.
This is maybe not the super Healer Build, but viable in PvE and PvP, but the build that pleases solo play a lot as it has a lot of survivability.
You wont make a lot of XP in Grps, as you dont do that much damage anymore so it levels a little slower i’d guess.
I’mm Level 55 and until no problems solo. But i can tell you sooner or later you cannot solo anymore if you want to beat epic bosses in Edengrove or Shattered Mountain etc.
If ou can use an Amber Gem for your Hatchet, so it scales with Foc instead of Strength.
And i use Carnelians for my Armor to reduce threat.
Not only good for Dungeons and Groups in general, but also for solo play in dense areas with high respawn, you just do less aggro and dont pull them all the time so you can cast your HoT AoE and keep slashing
what are your dps out puts for hatchet and hammer, and what tier are the weapons.
I dont use potions etc etc and have no problem dealing plenty damage
Im at level 45 but was dealing enough way before that level…strangely enough ive had the hatchet i use for at least since level 29 its gear score is 415 deals electric damage and has 1 slot…
Clear all the starter zone quests and outlived your current zone. Make sure to update your gear as well as new stuff unlocks. Bring friends to help as well.
While Leveling (Im running Life Staff / Great Axe) and around your level, I realized that my problem when struggling was my constitution was horrendously low. That and the fact that I was running full light armor meant I was taking so much more damage. When I switched to a Focus/Con stat setup, I started soaring through the content. Also making sure my weapons and gear were up to date.
One thing I might recommend, is make sure you complete your faction gladiator quest if you haven’t done so already. It’s unlocked at 25 but often over-looked. Then spend a few hours to grind out the level 25 heavy gear set including weapons. Since your running a strength build, the armor will be perfect as its STR/CON so you might loose a little damage but you will gain survivability which results in more damage overall.
Update gear, get at least 150 con(200is the best later when u lvl up a bit) light armor and switch out hammer for greataxe. The axe can heal u better and hits wider meaning u pull 10mobs, throw gravity well followed by heavy attack, reap for heal, roll dodge heavy attack, roll dodge heavy attack etc.
