Level 60 GS & Expertise Help

So if you have two lvl 60’s, one with low expertise and one with high, same stats and build, does the one with higher GS and expertise have tons more damage or heals or armor, etc.?

yes.
basically yes

better gear gives more hp with con.

more con gives better sustain.

etc

525 light armor mitigates 21% damage. 625 light armor mitigates 25% damage

525 medium armor mitigates 33% damage. 625 medium armor mitigates 38% damage.

525 heavy armor mitigates 40% damage. 625 medium armor mitigates 45% damage.

These values are before absorption, which includes resistant gems, fortify, and oak flesh.

In terms of damage, to the best of my knowledge, when players are both level 60, the PvP damage formula only takes into account the defender’s armor rating and the attacker’s weapon’s gear score. Depending on the perks on the weapon there would be at least a 10% difference in damage between a 525 and 625 weapon. The damage difference between a 600 gs weapon and a 625 Gs weapon is like 5-7%, but it can be higher depending on the weapon perks.

No… The difference from 600-625 gear is a quite literal 30-40 more armor per piece… And a max of 50 dmg for the weapons… Useless… whooptiedooo

It’s not useless.

Numbers are one thing, but when you have, say an average 600GS, and you are facing 625GS players in OPR, you know it. There is no question.

It’s not a matter of “% better”, it’s a matter of going toe to toe with a player for 10 seconds, or just getting obliterated in 2 seconds.

That’s the difference between PVPing a player with 600GS, and one with 625GS.

I never get a definitive answer here. Can anyone please link me to a place where I can see the changes between 500 and 625GS score? Or is it all empirical? Every time someone comes with a good answer like Kippp did, someone else goes “no it’s more than that, It’s 200% gear difference on every Gravity Well”.
@Kippp can you please let me know where you found the data? Really interested in it

New World Calculator 1.4 - Google Sheets Click on the “armor mitigation calculator” tab at the bottom. Once you’re in the armor mitigation tab, look at the left side. There is a box for “enemy weapon GS” and if you scroll down, also on the left side, is “armor rating.” Those are the boxes you need to play with.

Subjectively, I think 625 weapons seem to hit harder, like you notice it. I do not, however, feel any tanker in 623 armor, but I use light armor.

I do not think a 625 GS makes such a difference that it’s an automatic win for the 625 player versus the low 600 gs player. If your GS is way below 600 and you do not have 600 GS weapons, you are probably going to lose against a 625 player.
