They could have fixed the issue by only applying it to the caster and the target that got hit - and still keep it useful for the self healing… The damage on the life staff is atrocious as it is compared to anything else with comparable stats.

i still manage to do ALOT of healing even with this nerf. And yes, nerf is what it is. It isn’t a fix.
Self heals now useless and having to aim at very poorly designed hit boxes just plain sucks. Doable buuut stupid. Fix the hit boxes and I’ll be fine with it.
tried that skill before btw, it feels bad, maybe cuz I used when I was just level 20+ in Amrine, the heal amount is too low to even be useful and everyone’s health just down too fast.
SG heal is way too good to pass unless they want to nerf it.
Most of the time removing debuff is also pointless, if you can just heal tank the damage from mobs.
Think it would be better for PvP when everyone is getting debuff tho and it’s a mess everywhere.

New users really need the healing numbers on the light attack when using that perk. They aren’t going to know its healing. i had to run around trying to find folks who weren’t full health to work out what the heck was going on. Then i sussed it. I can’t tell. End of. And the other perk that makes life staff not use mana is broke now. Attacks do use mana. i watched my mana bar go down whilst in a expedition. I’ve never ran out of mana before. And i wasn’t even using my skills at the time as i didn’t need to. So yeah. Hence the goodbye.

Not being able to heal your tammates and attack a mob (as healing gives ZERO xp) is shit.
Maybe it isnt supposed to, but from playing and observing it is happening in game. Or you can go on believing AGS got that right. You do you.
This is a common mistake with taunt, YOU don’t start out gaining agro, everyone else open with alpha damage and then you taunt, this places you above all the other damage + taunt value.
If you just taunt all you get it the taunt agro and that is simply not enough. And with your low damage it would take half the mobs life for you to DPS/Taunt to get main angro on your own.
Still no response from devs on the Life Staff light/heavy attacks ? I would really like to know if this is intended or not. It’s really hard to keep up healing in a war or dungeon with only 3 skills that all have cd’s. Please just give us a response.
Staff light attack still heals, you just have to aim it at the target instead of the small AOE it had.
Yeah no the LS does not heal onesself on attack. Only heals group ally at a very low amount. It is nearly useless at this point. Change up to hatchet.
I did not say it heals you on light attack. It heals for exactly what it says in the tool tip, which if you are spamming light attacks does a decent job of keeping healing going between CD. Definately not nearly useless.
They need to stop nerfing Life Staff. While its allready hard to get party in priest farming. I really tired playing 400 focus with 6k hp. Many friends allready they change to dps from life Staff. So PLEASE STOP nerfing Life Staff!

I could be wrong (or even talking my own book as it were), but as I read what they intend on the new void gauntlet (and what they’ve done to IG/FS) it seems to me that the days of the min/max historical purist are waning (and not just for healers).
Essence Rupture in VG is a very interesting skill that doesn’t scale off of foc/int at all. It’s a ‘shot caller’ skill in PvP at which anyone can throw it and all allies hitting the target get 20% of THEIR dmg back as health. Makes no difference whatsoever if that was cast by a 400 FOC healer or a STR dominated GreatAxe user whose int/foc is 5. It will show up alongside Beacon in PvE on bosses and elites.
While I think that there’s a long way to go on balance and counters (mainly effective limits on CC-spamming), I personally welcome the added layers of tactics that I think they’re aiming for in the coming patch.

Even Blessed was nerfed in the items by 10%??? This guys just killed the healers completly. I am def switching to brain dead GA/WH, fuck this, they want meta players they will get meta players.
Was it really?! Omg. I just bought a Lv60 lifestaff that had high focus, gs and 25% blessed perk.

No you still will need blessed now more than ever. even nerfed its still the best Life staff passive to have.
