Not sure who you are playing against, but i garantee you that people can kill me. It might not be easy. but it is doable. Even more if you know what to do. For starters push us out of the Divine Embrace area (the small green circle on the ground). Once we are out our healing capacity lowers by alot. Keep forcing us out of that and we can’t sustain healing.
So…
Healers can’t be good at attacking, because they are healers.
Healers can’t be good at defending (tanking 2 guys), because they are healers.
What can healers do then? Just insta die and search another mmo?
Healers are defense focused and hard to kill in every mmo i know. They are naturally tanky, due to AoE skills and cast times. Remember, they give VERY LITTLE DMG.
They can squat

In open world pvp it was never relevant. However in dungeons and open world bosses we have to make a choice deal damage to contribute to getting a drop, or heal someone with a light attack .No splash heals for melee at all. They did not improve performance of the light staff, at least if you expect to get any drops on world bosses.
No, they did not improve it in any way shape or form.
At best this is a bandaid patch for PVP
PVE as a whole is hurt by this, both in elite farming, expeditions, accountable damage on mobs to count as credit.

I did some testing and Light attacks do not heal anybody right now, also not allies which are hit / traversed by it!

Ok for the new healing meta for dungeons if your standing in sacred or beacon spam crouch. Procs heals every time. Can work in pvp and stuff but massively unfair so please be responsible with this power.

Thats why it is a true reality for healers.
You dump 150 FOC and 50 CON from your stat points and you NEVER need to respec them.
For PvP and solo PvE you gear up in full str/dex or str/con dex/con. You can get 200 points from gear. It makes possible builds like 100 srt/200 foc/100 con. You place sacred ground+beacon, switch to dd weapon with amber and life become much easier) yes you heal less but imaging a group of these builds) it is much more efficient.
I don’t even know why they encorage healers to be Light Armor… Light Armor means movement, Sacred Ground and others healing habilities means stationary… It doesnt fit!
It’s not though, Life-staff great axe is much stronger in a pve setting especially soloing. I can take on twice the number of elite zone mobs with Gaxe then with Hatchet.
Because with the bow and musket you don’t have to shoot through a friendly to cause damage?

Why shouldn’t the light and heavy skills have AOE? They could have introduce a cooldown to its effect to limit the effect, i.e only one blissful touch heal per x seconds. and every healer would have been pretty happy.
But this change fundamentally breaks the bility to heal tanks in dungeons without standing riht behind the tank, and in the attack line of the boss.
And pretty much encourages all healers to now use heavy armour and not bother dodging, except they have also nerfed the heal in heavy armour.
You could just use Light’s or Divine Embrace.
We already do, there is the time when you run out of mana if you spam them. Light attacks were helping with allowing us time to not spam these abilities and regen the mana in meanwhile. Have you healed lvl 64 Elites yet?
That’s what I have Entombed for and in emergencies where I can’t spare the time, I have plenty of mana pots.
I use light attack to keep tank topped up, and then use lights embrace for the rest of the group.
MY point is that those two passives weren’t broken so shouldn’t have been messed with.
But they were broken. They literally said they were supposed to do one thing and did something else. They were bugged and not working as intended.
When I am entombed (which I use for sure) I CANNOT HEAL. When a tank is being hit by the said elites they can’t take many hits even in full heavy armor and with very good GS. So when I am entombed they are usually in deep trouble if I don’t cancel it and go back to hitting my light attacks and then direct heal them.
