On PTR, all weapons have the same perk pool and chances to roll specific perks. Keen and Vicious both have a 15% chance to roll. I think (on lifestaffs specifically), Blessed and Refreshing Move should have the highest roll rates, or at the very least, just Blessed.
In most cases, a Lifestaff WITHOUT Blessed is salvaged or very rarely purchased and most players don’t want keen/vicious on their lifestaffs unless they’re running a niche dps healer build.
Please consider buffing Blessed’s roll rate on PTR.
OR just make blessed a flat 15% roll rate considering it can only roll on Lifestaff and Void Gauntlets to begin with.
Blessed is no longer BiS on the life staff after the perk changes. Check out some of the other LS perks that roll at new percentages now. They are really, really good!
Edit, it’s not that blessed is no longer good, it’s just that there are other very good options to have now* before someone freaks out about their BiS*
That’s highly incorrect.
Blessed increases your lifestaff’s healing by a large amount and thus BIS
Anything with keen/vicious is horrible on the lifestaff because it does such low damage and has such a low crit chance. Even with both, you’d do small amounts higher.
As it stands right now, for next patch, the bis lifestaff combination is:
Blessed, Refreshing Move (or Mortal Refreshment), and a weapon perk.
What other perks do you think would be good?
The mana perks are still mediocre on weapons and Focused on the earring is a better option
lifestaff has plenty of built in fortify so you don’t need that
shirking (anything) isn’t great on lifestaff
am I missing a perk? Off the top of my head, I can’t think of something better than blessed
The new perks on weapons % far exceeds blessed in heal % on specific perks. The orb and clap one are really, really good. It makes for more targeted builds, but there are other ones that were brought up as well, all of the crappy not good to haves were reworked, I’d take a look =x
Or I guess a better way it was explained to me. The new perks make it easy to hit the heal cap, so you no longer need to choose only +heal. You can expand to other things.
It’s actually pretty hard to hit heal cap consistently (as it is 100%).
You’ll always likely have the 20% Bend light buff and the 10% from having a buff.
That’s 30% with 70% remaining. If you have 3 stacks of intensify, that’s another 30% (but having all 3 at all times is pretty rare).
That leaves 40% until cap.
10% from blessed and 10% from sacred ring.
You have 20% remaining until heal cap.
The only weapon perk that actually boosts your healing is Mending Protection. And that (on armor) boosts it the final 20% needed to 100%. If in your lifestaff, you could give up intensity so you don’t need to heavy attack as much.
And as far as I know, none of the other perks boosts your healing (excluding the below 50% heal buff, but that’s not a constant modifier and thus irrelevant). If you’re not running Orb in your build, then you physically cannot reach healing cap, and even with orb, you’ll rarely reach the cap unless you manage your buffs perfectly (which again is rare) and/or you’re only healing people below 50%
Of course it’s not ‘wrong’ to omit blessed, it’s just what my company and I have decided after discussing it. Blessed is still a must have for lifestaff if you want to be competitive
I still agree that Blessed is a keeper. For most peeps, Refreshing Move, Blessed, and a LifeStaff Perk would be the go to.
Keen Speed undoubtedly would be nice to have between your two weapons, but seeing as to how LS has 2.0% crit chance, it might not be too wise to try that unless you got a Keen, Sacred, Hearty ring/ have keen on your LS like the Blackguard’s Life Staff.
I definitely prefer Focused or even Brilliant over Siphoning (Blow), though I will pick up a Giver’s Green Gift for fun. 3 mana per 2 seconds prob won’t be the difference between potting between rotations, but if you pair it with Focused, it could be a little bit better.
You’ll always likely have the 20% Bend light buff and the 10% from having a buff.
This is actually 20% from having a buff. Tool tip is wrong according to the devs in a PTR patch note.
But yeah Life Staffs without Blessed are salvage worthy. It instantly invalidates a Life Staff for good. Sure sucks to have such a low chance to have a usable life staff. Forces you to roll blessed so at the least it’s not entirely bricked. This is not interesting for crafting. I genuinely believe they need to remove Blessed from the game and shove healing numbers up on a baseline. Crafting is not interesting until they do that.
With no Blessed, Life Staff’s would still feel like two-perk absolutes. Refreshing Move and Weapon perks would be the two clutch choices you need to have, yet the only remaining choices are damage, keen (no idea if crit healing will ever happen), bane, or mortal perks. Would still feel difficult to make a decent 3/3 considering how the utility from keen procs won’t easily manifest and damage on life staff is a bit of an afterthought.
I am curious to see if there will be any on-heal effects that AGS will add to LS and VG that might give more options to Focus users seeing as to how CC mitigation and Debuff Clearing are still left up to the individual player (Freedom, Purify, Cleansing Elixirs). As has been the issue since Launch, give the players the tools and players will adapt with those tools in mind.
While that’s true it would at least open up the potential to maybe see PVP perks as a 3rd. Imagine Exhaustive Exploitation for instance. Or Plagued Crits.
Imagine if they added a lifestaff perk called ‘cleansing crits’ where you could cleanse all a few debuffs from an ally that you healed after you crit someone with your lifestaff
Then people would potentially even seek getting keen/vicious on their lifestaff
Currently, there is no use to keen/vicious on lifestaff because the damage is a joke, lifestaffs crit chance is only 2% or something like that, and there’s no beneficial perks that require crits
Exhaustive Exploitation the only one that works considering how low the crit is on LS, but ya definitely would be nice to see more offensive utility added in. Greatstaff of the Light’s Judgment will be my go to after patch for a decent 2-perk to pair with my Dark Feast.
Would be nice to see that. You’re already incentivized to get Sacred/Keen Awareness, and Hearty on your rings to maximize light armor w/ VG, might as well roll over the importance of crits onto Life Staff. Could do away with current iterations of underutilized/unreasonable passives like Defensive Light (will blocking update make this worthwhile?), Spirits United, Magnify, Connection, and Balance.
Care to explain this “heal cap”? Or was just a poor word statement? I’m returning, or trying to, after around 1 month and trying to catch up, not trolling with the question, just curious about that “heal cap” you mentioned.
