No one is using light armor in PvE, you simply get one shot too many times and barely lose any DPS for being in medium. Meanwhile in PvP once they nerf gravity well melee players will not be able to catch up to light armor and lock them down. Increase the mitigation while maybe reducing some of the distance you roll and I think light armor would be in a better spot for both PvP and PvE.
I agree, i have been saying it for a while now.
Some key changes are
- Changing armor values to
- Light: 1000-1100
- Medium: 1200-1300
- Heavy: 1400-1500
- Reducing 20% armor bonus pip in constitution to 10%
- Changing + Durability perk to + armor resist (2-3% per item).
I totally agree with the need to buff armour values for light and to reduce values for heavy.
Right now Bow users with 300 Dex cannot even dmg heavy healers. This seriously needs rework.
as a light player id say if u guys change like that ill kill everyone like flies
In PVE mutated 10, everyone plays heavy armour.
In PVP wars, 50% plays GA/WH with heavy, 20% plays life staff/GA or Lifestaff/Void, 20% IG/FS with Heavy and 5% musket, 5% plays medium armour with random weapon.
If Amazon cannot see that heavy armour, GA need nerf then they need new glasses or eyes transplant.
Yeah, in this state, Heavy & Medium will overperform in Arenas, compared to Light.
But I guess we’ll just have to wait & see how they deal with it.
Only lies in your post, mostly in wars we have mages and musket in light armor u need only 4 melee party with healer to hold point. Ga need buff in lunge cuz light armor players are uncatchable ofc they are players who will always complain why they died in one shotted if they have 50 const and 8k hp, 600 def xd And they dont see this damage when they hit 1,5k into GA player with 1,8k def, while GA hit them 1,3k while they have 600. And really GA need nerf ? No u need more def. Change build for more tanky and sacrafice dps from int/dex for const.
Everyone switching from medium to light , you get way more evasion , survivability and everything in light . I just switched my build from medium to light and it’s literally 2 differents games. Wars are mostly 35-40 light users 10-15 heavy
I have never done an m10 in heavy
Hi TIMEDAZZLER, thanks for taking the time to come to the forums and share your thoughts on light armor. The dev team is always looking for player feedback on subjects like this so I will get this sent up to them. Thanks and have a great day!
true, light mobility is too good, to the point no melee weapon, but spear, can hit it. Reducing dodge distance, but increasing its armor would be a nice compromise
love this
I disagree with this.
Also, a light armor user should have an advantage of escaping melee players. Heavy or medium melee SHOULD be at a disadvantage chasing light. Just like light armor should be at a disadvantage when in melee.
I get a feeling that a lot of melee players feel entitled to ALWAYS catch everyone, including light. You shouldn’t ALWAYS be able to catch a light armor user…
This is a bit of a long topic because we have to analyze every class accordingly, but actually it works out that it really just boils down to a lot of fine tuning for classes.
I do not like the melee “lunge” built into attacks, i am strongly against it and think it devalues charge and other mobility based melee options but also is insanely unfair to ranged because repeated charge spam will just keep you on any mage target.
when it comes to the topic of melee, generally they should have less escape mobility mechanics, however, they should also have stronger resists against snares and roots. They should also mainly have stuns and staggers, as roots and slows are often overtuned on melee.
The changes to the armor suggested above is more about doing some across the board balance, which will improve the “feel” of the game to all players. It does not feel good for dex to be doing 600-800 damage to a heavy player, and it does not feel good for light armor players to get hit for 6k+ damage. both situations create a bad “gameplay experience”.
Balancing out the armor classes also provides benefit in pve for balance as well. This is a very good change for the over all health of the game, especially considering that compared to wow mages, new world mages are generally weaker than wow mages, and do much less damage and have little to no line up and very limited heavy cc
Light armor shouldn’t be buffed in anyway. Already too powerful. Has insane dodge ability and damage. Yes I know, light armor suppose to have high mobility and high damage, but the current state can’t be described with high, it’s extremly high
I done all my m10 as healer in light … a lot of dodges and evades.
In pvp light is a bit more tricky … it will need faster reaction not to get caught
Ive been playing light bruiser since the beta and always performed very well and love chasing other light armor players. I dont understand why people think medium/heavy players should be able to keep up with light armor players, the whole point of going light armor is to sacrifice armor for mobility.
You make a choice when you pick your armor weight, you cant pick medium or heavy and expect to have the same mobility as light, why would anyone ever go light armor then?
Its also no issue being light in PvE either, especially now when you can cancel auto attacks with dodge. All damage in this game can be avoided by just proper movement and dodging.
Totally agree this post from nourri
Not really imo. All it would do is make you get 3 shot instead of two shot. And your dodge is less effective.
