Wasn’t the slow always applied? it got reduced from 1.75 to 1.5 for light armor. That makes it easier not harder.

there’s 2 slows, on hit slows and on basic attack slows

pretty sure he’s referring to the garbage band aid the devs put in that forces walk mode for 2s every time a range player uses a basic.

his argument being it only affects mages since dex has tools to mitigate AND mages play at a much closer mid range the dex players have to.

and w the new changes to light, and w the host of changes that have occured over the past year I tend to agree removing that slow off mage weapons when they use a basic would be a good balancing point. not to mention it’s just maddening to play with.

After playing a few OPRs I like the changes, I play light armor double melee and light armor definitely needed a nerf. It’s far more punishing to over extend now. It’s much more balanced now

My only complaint now is dex 150 combined with general dex mobility weapons is to high they can still infinite kite and are only countered to broken mobility builds.

playing mage sns outright counters it, hammer/gaxe feels more fair. 300 str perk is broken no idea why theyre immune to all cc basically unless you get lucky with lag before brainless left click autos

There is no slow, there is a Sprint delay which has always been in the game, and with this patch was actually reduced.

The only thing that was introduced this patch was Sprint distance reduction while in the delay.

People need to learn mechanics before complaining; it was always there.

That was always in the game; nothing changed there. What was changed months ago was removing it from melee attacks.

They all get buffed, actually. All type of equip.
But 0.5s on heavy equip is too ridiculous, this is over buffed. You can definitely tell that delay doesn’t effect them AT ALL. Ex: you hit them and they will walk for just a tick, then they click " Shift " to dodge your next attack and back running (sprint) again. Light and Med equip can’t do that.

No it has not always been in the game you have no idea what your talking about. I’ve played in light for a long time and never have I had a slow applied when getting hit. There has been the time to run aspect but the slow is new i linked the patch note that said it was “added”.

It has not always been in the game. There are now two debuffs you get from being hit now. You have time to recover for running and a slow applied which reduces your roll.

The slow and the time to return to sprint are two different things. Yes the time to sprint got buffed, but in return, they added where when you get hit you are slowed and your dodge roll distance is reduced by 20 percent. Not sure on the percent tho.

That patch note was for the sprint delay. What they added for that was it being driven by equip load.

Yes the dodge reduction is new but that wasn’t what you linked

All of the new effects make light impossible to play( for entire builds like mele light for exmaple). I hardly care since I am in heavy now, but I can positively tell you the slow is not a BUFF cause PvE mobs never slowed me as they do now.

I’m aware I thought I was responding to a different post about mage play and the forced walk mechanic on outgoing basics.

you’re right it’s been in the game since they reworked movement pre betas and I think should be reevaluated in lieu of changes made over time

but that’s a different thread on mage play, light armor overall needed changes independent of their impact on mages.

Nerfing Light Equip makes sense. But the fact is Light equip got buffed as well (1.75s to 1.5s), and the roll is reduced a little bit. I’m not complaining about it as a light equip player since the Preview. But it is not the excuse/reason to over-buff heavy equip ridiculously.
Do you get what i’m saying?

Agree.
Playing FS/rapier or FS/bb I just can’t kill full heavy with hatchet. Even if I manage to trigger their Defy Death, they just heal up and run, and then everything starts again)

I feel like I can die from 3 musket shots. 2 bow crits, and 1 stun lock from GH. And I can’t do real damage to them.

I have 3 shrinking, 30 resilince, 15-20 physical protection, and 150 con. And still I can be killed in 1 combo, if I won’t react or get lagged.

Today I duelled with and/hatchet in heavy. It was really annoying. I nearly scratch him. All my damage done with combo after riposte - is healed up with 1 potion and self regen.

The only targets I can beat in light - are other light users.

Tough geared heavy’s can’t beat me, and I can,t beat them. I can run away and avoid, they can heal up all damage and also run away :joy: with hatchet.
