Almost every single MMORPG out there with dungeons have a limit on how many you can do daily. Whether by stopping you from doing them or making them not drop any loot/experience. Imagine if there’s no limit, the economy would be destroyed and new players would just get carried through expeditions.
World of Warcraft has bots running dungeons all day for rare drops + resources. So yes. A limiter is fine and common practice in MMORPGs.
Whatever a player can do, a bot can do better. If a bot can free farm 24/7 then there’s really no point doing that activity since they will flood the market.
So, advocates of limited content. Did you know that the number of players is falling week by week? So do you prefer limited content and the player base to keep going down? I don’t know anymore if it’s amazon who wants the new world to disappear or the game community is the one who wants that to happen. More limit, less players. less players less winnings. less winnings and we are all out of game.
In the current condition, limiting content is not a good option.
I guess player numbers is still too big so they need to show how little they care and how little they understand playerbase to try to kill the game more. There is no other logical explaination of this action.
My guess is they are indeed trying to curb something, the question is ‘what’ since RMTs, bots and shell companies run rampant anyway. In a fair system they already have an advantage on normal players anyway.
@KiritoBeater I understand your stance on the issue. While I have no input in the decision making process on this matter, I can understand why limits are being proposed. Limiting habitual group leavers, run sellers, and bots for instance. It’s tricky, because there is no perfect system where all parties will be happy. Regardless, I will convey your sentiment to the Dev Team and make sure your input is heard.
Go play Bot Ark where you get one raid a week and two dungeons a week. New World’s limit is extremely generous at 15 A DAY for regular dungeons and 20 a week for mutations. Now I do think they should bump up the amount of mutations per week to perhaps 25 or 30 but if you’re doing 125 dungeons a week, you need to get a life.
No one can be happy when other limit or cap their options. All off us wanna play as we like. No limit us. Its a human thougth: If you limit my options, im gonna fight agains you. But its only my opinion… The time says…
Group leavers are not a real issue, since they can be replaced, and almost nobody does mutations with random players.
Selling runs happens because the reward band between 1-10 is just way too broad. Meaning too few Umbral shards at low levels, and too many Umbral shards at high levels. If the reward band were narrowed to a more mathematically appropriate level, selling runs would mostly dry up.
As for the bots… Trying to handle them with software only solutions, is just completely inadequate.
No it’s not. It will make the group finder pointless, because people with zero experience will have maxed gear. It will just end up reinforcing do not play with random players regardless of gear and spec. It’s already caused major problems with trying to fill in a spot with a random, and asking them to link gear.
