Linked Trading Post weekly patch - Ultimately leads to the same outcome

“Additionally, Transaction Taxes on purchases you make are defined by the Settlement in which you are making the purchase. Items listed in Sell Orders that expire return to the Settlement from which they were posted.”

So, a company can hold an exterior settlement- set their taxes as low as possible and just snipe orders from the trading post all day. This is exactly the concern that most expressed when this information was made public last week. Trading Houses are going to be linked (Official Source inside). Rich getting richer, and the gap between factions will steadily increase over the course of the game. This was hands down a rushed “hotfix” and in my opinion was handled very poorly. At the MINIMUM they should have charged a double tax, both from the purchasing city and the delivering city as well.

Yes it can cause tax havens. Though on my server right now Everfall gains more in housing payments than market tax so the owners could just set trading tax to absolute minimum and remain the only market hub used.

Not even worth fighting it anymore, they’ve chosen to go Themepark MMO and make a WoW knock-off. It’s not worth getting vaguely upset about this anymore.

They’ll see… when all of these “fans” jump ship to the next FF xpac or WoW xpac.
