This. It would make the game accesible for many more people. Essentially it’s just a switch you need to toogle
Adding my +1 to this as well. New World is the only reason why I fire up Windows anymore, aside from my need for IT education, but I can run that in a VM from Linux.
IMO having a large company like Amazon/AGS supporting the move to allow more Linux based games/programs hit the market will definitely increase the chances others may follow suit; whether by just allowing the game to be ran on Linux w/o support, or porting to Linux with full support.
+1 I would love to be able to play this game without windows. Let us play please!
+1 Devs please do this. Would love to play this game on linux

Chiming in here aswell.
Please enable Linux EAC for New World.
Would really appreciate this change.
Also wanting this SO MUCH! Bought a Steam Deck so I don’t have to have a second laptop for gaming while I travel for work. THIS IS MY MAIN GAME! Please make this happen!
+1 would love this on streamdeck
With proton supporting EAC, I really hope AGS does devote a small amount of time to get this to work.
Here to chime in aswell, Recieved the dreaded “Upgrade to windows 11 now” and got tired of microsofts bullshit. I already use linux for everything other than gaming (until now) and decided it was time to go full linux now.
All the games i play actively (almost all) work very well with linux, and in many cases better than on windows.
Now i already own new world and deffo want to play it. PLEASE amazon go through the honestly pretty low ammount of work to enable proton support for EAC.
+1 for EAC enabled for Proton
Add me to the growing list of people wanting Linux/Proton support, its just an opt in
+1 to EAC on Proton!
I would like some kind of acknowledgement that this request has at least been heard by the dev team.
Year of the Linux Gamer LETS GO!
A CM has elevated our EAC request. Post: Please add Easy Anticheat support for Linux! - #103 by NW_Mugsy
I expect this to take some time before it is even tried. I will continue to test NW with Proton experimental and the latest stable release on every patch and post my findings to ProtonDB and that thread.
Thanks for pointing this out. I realise that there quite a few issues to fix at a rapid pace. I’m content for now knowing that it’s probably somewhere in their backlog rather than it just not existing in their backlog.
How hard can it be to toggel on a switch to make this game work for proton.
