Every windows based game I own is supported via steam + proton for game play. Why can’t Amazon support the opensource anti cheat for Linux? It’s something that could be done quick and easily. Otherwise I spend $50 on a game I can’t play. I don’t wish to run a windows os. Is this Refundable ? Thanks
The annoying part for me was that troubleshooting took so long that I had already gone over the amount of time allowable for Steams making a refund. So…I had a game I had to pay for and get no refund, that did not work on my computer…
Infuriating.
The good news:
They can enabled EAC (Easy Anti Cheat) support fairly easily. It’s literally 6 clicks.
The bad news:
They’re lazy, they don’t care enough to fix game breaking bugs, so they don’t care enough to enable Linux support no matter how simple it is.
EAC has been enabled in Linux for months, the devs - or their PMs don’t seem to care about the demand for their Windows users, dealing with insane pvp exploits - let alone Linux users who just want to play the game.
Continue to be vocal about your experience. The louder our voice, the more likely they’ll do something about it. The squeaky wheel gets the grease.
They don’t even support Windows 11. Linux is a far far dream lol.
Here’s what they told me about the bug ticket I sent.
