So amazon games have stated they try to add weapons to adress the current weapon balance and what roles need to be met or filled in.
Currently I think it is safe to say that healers need a more proper counter. And I’m not just talking about a “disease” weapon which reduces healing efficiency.
How about a weapon that turns enemy healing into a weapon against them.
A weapon that applies a debuff which gives a player rend or weaken whenever they recieve healing, either from pots or from lifestaff/vg. (Probably not from lifesteal perks)
Something to put a wrench in the wheels and create a risk in using potions and healers for your opponents.
Obviously this needs to also be a risk/reward weapon with a skill based kit. A natural secondary weapon.
This can also be a healers secondary weapon. Giving it the ability to steal the enemies healing and send it over to a friendly instead.
A weapon to create turbulence with the healer dynamic.
Obviously all of this is directed towards PvP and I am not entirely sure how that would work in a PvE setting but when I started thinking about it I just got fascinated by the idea of it so I figured I’d make a post about it so everyone can share their own ideas about it.
So what about this. You put the debuff on the target. You need to deal X ammount of damage to them before the debuff takes effect, if you dont you end up healing the enemy instead.
Like a risk/reward but skill based weapon. Something that can disturb the healers without just straight up lowering healing output
How about, and dont hate this instantly, you make a class, that can reduce defensive value of a target for a period of time, and then makes a burst damage to kill it. But it kind of would have to be very accurate in what it does… And rather quick to get out once its job is done, because healers are the back line…? Oh wait, thats a fckin rogue/dagger class that is in every mmo ever created, with an intension to have a high risk high reward playstyle on the back lines or punishing out of positioning glass cannons.
Ffs, dont add debuffs ontop debuffs to become buffs unless its not a full moon. They said daggers are planned. Jeeeezuz.
I really doubt we will see daggers any time soon. They gonna add yet another high dps dex weapon? It is the worst thing they can do for the balance of the game right now though.
Eventho I really want daggers.
What we need is another weapon that can be paired with focus which isnt just a straight up healing weapon.
Right now there is too much buffs in the game. I like the idea about something that can mitigate fortify. And also disrupt healing. With all the shirking forts and fortify + leeching paired with pocket healers.
It seems natural that the next weapon added needs to be something that can destabilize these builds which currently have no trade-off. Theyre just straight buffed with no way to be mitigated other than an oblivion
I don’t know if they can do it. Healers are already way too strong and lifestaff is the weapon that has been reworked, tweaked and nerfed the most of all weapons since alpha. They just can’t seem to find a nice balanced spot for the LS. Adding another healing weapon would be a Nightmare
Okay, hear me out. Str/Focus - fist weapons that are a hard debuffer type weapon. So not really heals (maybe in the form of sustain?) But mostly just quick abilities to pop for debuffs on enemies to allow for quick bursts windows before they can reapply
Another healing weapon [In theory] actually should help.
You could then split the LS in a few different ways
ie aoe vs single, buff vs utility, self vs party… even debuff vs. cleansing.
Instead of the LS doing everything ^-^
Only problem then is people using Both of the weapons… so… guess account for that in the perks
As i have typed this response 3 times and deleted for a better option weighing out what other MMOs have and what New World has or could do, the answer is “Bard”. We have instruments, Community Poll for what instrument should or be added to make the weapon tree choices. Bard would have buffs such as haste, fortification, or faster energy/health regeneration based on what ability used.
With the instruments already in game and how they sound is pretty damn good in my opinion for a game to have. Knowing how the “DDR” or “Rockband” style the activity is could do without the “Double Click” but thats a whole different topic. Though i dont think Bard would be a solid 5 man dungeon healer, unless a player has the higher threat perk, paired with threat gems could tank yet still do significant amounts of damage.
I think this is one of the best options if really looked at and paired with everything in game already.
Yes, a buffer class would be interesting. It it’s tuned good enough it could replace 1 DD in expedition party assuming the other 2 being buffed would output more dps than 3 DDs without it.
For wars it would not be worth having one in group maybe? Because of CC DD can offer. Solution could be that buffs affect everyone in certain radius, so 1 bard could buff up more allied players than those in his group and assuming fighting is not happening in a single spot all the time it wouldn’t be viable to have just 1 bard, but strategize on how many would benefit the entire battle field.
No hope from my side this will happen any time soon but I like the idea +1
