Living World ⁉

While playing new world, I can’t feel the feeling that I am playing a game with a living world, many cities are dead… there is no NPC in the game that feels like a living world, except for a few soulless meaningless NPCs that stand still, this is very sad as a player. I guess playing on a lifeless map gets boring after a while and I get bored…
The game needs moving, talking NPCs.

Already many of the servers are empty again. If we add Npc, an excuse such as lag and fps drops in the game has lost its validity. An average of 1.000 people play on servers with a capacity of 2.500 people.

Add chatting people walking the streets.
Add running kids.
Add cats and dogs.
Add foraging birds.
Add the chatty elders sitting in chairs.
Add people that sweep the streets.

When you compare the cities and living world of New World with games such as Guild Wars 2, Black Desert Online, you will see how many dead cities it has.

Funny, I had a similar thought this weekend. As I was killing turkeys and dodging other predator animals (wolves, big cats… etc) I wondered why they never attack the smaller animals. The world would feel A LOT more alive if there was more conflict in nature, seeing animals attack one another.

Just another thought on making the world feel more alive.

I don’t understand why they don’t try to improve the game in this direction, nobody wants to play in a soulless game, every player wants to feel the feeling of the game alive while waiting in the city.

Me too  could be nice skin and walk away!

Certainly, there are many ways to convey the feeling of the living world to the players.

I can get it to some degree. Playability, content and bugs will always need to be first. Something like this would just be decoration and have less importance in the grand scheme. I am willing to bet we will see more stuff like this appear over the coming months and years as the game continues to grow.

:beers:

I don’t think that bugs will ever come to an end, if only small, maybe 2-3 developers develop the game in this direction for a short time, they will not lose anything.

I think it is not very difficult to add walking people to cities…

not sure if it was alpha/beta, but they did attack each other.
watched wolves take down a few mobs…
that’s actually what caused me to buy the game, i thought "wow these devs actually put some awesome elements into this game.
i didn’t even notice at first but a friend said, “umm is that wolf fighting another mob?”.
we sat back and watched a bunch of them fight, was pretty magical.

in guild wars 2 there are thousands of NPCs around world and monsters killing each others…

You can play a private server on your own in WoW and still feel a certain atmosphere. It’s absolutely missing in this ‘rpg’.

Too much wasted space, and while they are at it give the entire continent the
[Kithicor forest] treatment, and add a sundial so we know the time of day.

I agree with most ideas posted the NPC to sell low items to reduce dropping items to the ground/and or clogging up the TP with crap items. Also again I stress the need for company banks that items can be more easily available to the company’s players. If there are any more mergers I think it needs to realized that not everyone wants to be on a maxed out server. Maybe making pvx, pvp,. and pve only servers might help with this. Just throwing ideas at the wall and see what sticks.
