I have been pretty forgiving so far with the AGS Devs…I have 20 years in MMO’s, and many, many new launches, and I thought I had seen it all.

But, at this point, with the Monte Hall Gold Giveaway, I have to agree.

This Dev team, while diligent and active, seem incompetent. They seem to create more problems than they fix. I’ve never seen that before, not even with Fallout 76, which I thought I would never see again.

I believe AGS is made up of interns reading coding for dummies books. Honestly the number of bugs they introduce feels deliberate at this point.

It is absolutely laughable at this point. It’s a real shame, I know they have some actual talent on their teams.

It’s quite hilarious how they manage to make something worse each day. Not even Anthem felt this disastrous. I really try to like New World but it’s quite hard and to be honest, with each day passing by it feels more and more self harming to play this pile of garbage with a bad customer service experience on it’s top.
I…I just don’t get it how it’s possible to fail this much. It makes me literaly speechless and sad to see this downspiral going on and on.

It’s true. I was there.

It’s bad. This is really, really bad. A staggering level of incompetence has been shown by AGS’ design team.

Every time they try to do anything, they make the game worse.

The funniest thing to me has been harvesting gear. It goes a little like:

“whoops, we deleted it. But we’re gonna give it back!”

…5 days later…

“Hey guys, we’re giving it back tonight! Surprise!”

… 4 hours later…

“Whoops! We messed up again… uhhh… its there, but not. See ya soon™!”

Welcome to comedy central :joy:

That one’s pretty good, but as a software engineer the one that still boggles me the most is the fact it knows which achievements I have but can’t count them. i mean I understand completely that there are different data sets and different representations, and the way you count may vary depending… but ultimately counting is still one of the most basic tasks you can do in software. I would love to know what the bug is (if they finally fix it).

Talent? To create bugs you mean. Have to agree with others that its deliberate at this point.

maybe the different departments played musical chairs during the initial builds.

in all honesty, I’m really curious how many people quit AGS since NW was released. I can only imagine what’s happening and the pressure the rest of the team is under.

As someone who spends a considerable amount of their time interfacing with offshore teams, this reeks of cost cutting and outsourced development.

AWS development is pretty slanted in terms of offshore development, and what often goes along with that is lack of access to do proper testing, lack of experience with said product (due to rapid turnover), and a lack of passion about what the actual product is.
