Loadouts datamine leak

Okay so, judging by the amount of views on the videos out there, I’m sure most people have seen that there’s a few datamined leaks and one of them relates to Loadouts.

Firstly, yay. Gear management is one of the major frustrations in the game at the moment. However, I’m pretty worried about implementation, from the little we can see.

The code floating around on the web is:

This implies slots, like weapon or armour slots, and in this bit of code we’re seeing two. My concern is that if AGS is putting loadouts on the paperdoll, a) it’s already pretty crowded, and b) that really limits the possibilities of using this system to alleviate gear issues.

Just off the top of my head, here are my current gear sets:

Skinning, Lumberjacking, Mining, Harvesting, Fishing
Stonecutter’s, Tanner’s, Weaver’s, Smelter’s, Woodworker’s
Armorsmith, Concoctor’s, Jewelcrafter’s
Corrupted Ward Med Str, Courrupted Ward Med Dex, Ancient Ward Med Str, Lost Ward Med Str, Angry Earth Ward light Int, Ancient Ward light Foc, Corrupted Ward Light Foc

Twenty sets and I don’t even have my tradeskill sets finished, plus I probably actually have more fighting sets. Forgot the luck set and I haven’t even started putting PVP gear together yet.

Ultimately, I’d love to see this work in its own interface, with related stats to go with the armour, jewelry and weapons. But at the least, give us gear set “containers” that we can use to separate and store our gear. Don’t restrict it to two loadout slots on the main paperdoll, because that’s just a slap in the face.

The sheer amount of different sets required in NW is really killing the vibe. 2-3 saved preset loadouts will not solve the problem. I really hope this is not all we are getting when it comes to sets and loadout management.
It reminds me storage and trade post filter fixes that got implemented. They seem half done.

The amount of loadout slots isn’t the problem, ^ this is the problem.
Why isn’t it just “Gathering Set”, “Refining Set”, “Crafting Set”, …
Still to much, but the current amount is just silly.

Yes and no. For me personally, I’m not the best at clicking the mouse at the right time but I am fairly good at maximizing my bonuses, so the complexity of the gear system suits me. I can see how that may not be the case for everyone but I don’t know that simply dumbing it down is the answer. People already complain about left-click-win.

I also like the different skins on the crafting gear sets and how I can recognise what kind of crafting or gathering someone is geared for if they use the named sets.

I agree, they should not be added to the inventory tab it is definitely crowded already, I think the best way they could implement it is an entirely separate UI. One where your inventory is available only upon clicking on slots and you can choose your gear piece per slot and see the stat bonuses and perks all listed out clearly.

Another thing I would love to see AGS is weapon skill “loadouts” or presets, doesn’t need to be tied into the gear loadout system but the ability to save two or more different weapon skills setups for pvp/pve would be very nice. I find myself reading through the skills each time I respec and probably don’t even end up with the same skills each time.

please tell me we’re not already complaining about something that NO ONE has even seen yet.

Let’s voice our concerns about things that are actually an issue, ok?
