Login Difficulty / Connection Error

Error message only states to confirm internet access and try again. I have access, nothing else is affected. After several tries it usually goes through, but want this fixed. (obviously)

I’ve tried several basic work arounds, but it pops up every now and then. I have restarted client, steam, router, etc. usually gets it resolved, but very annoying.

I have some questions for you today, is this a general issue or just happening with New World?

Have you tried reinstalling Easy Anti Cheat or reinstalling the game?

For most connection related (Lag, Latency) issues, begin with the following basic troubleshooting steps:

  1. Restart your PC and disconnect the power to your Modem and/or Router for 60 seconds.
  2. Reconnect the power and wait for the internet connection to be restored before powering your PC back on and attempting to access the game.
  3. Try switching from a Wireless connection to a Wired one (if possible).

If that doesn’t help, we’ll need to completely reset and refresh the connection your computer has to the internet:

  1. From the Start menu, begin typing ‘cmd’.
  2. In the results that populate, right-click the Command Prompt result and select Run as administrator.
  3. Type ipconfig /flushdns and press Enter. Wait a few seconds and when the command prompt appears, proceed to the next step.
  4. Type ipconfig /registerdns and press Enter.
  5. Type ipconfig /release and press Enter.
  6. Type ipconfig /renew and press Enter.
  7. Type netsh winsock reset and press Enter.
  8. Restart your computer.

Connection Failed: Unable to establish connection with the server
Resolving this issue will require allowing or adding ‘newworld.exe’ to your Firewall.
If you do not have 3rd party Firewall software installed, this can be added via Windows Defender using the following steps:

  1. Select the Start/Windows button > Settings > Update & Security > Windows Security and then Firewall & network protection.
  2. Select Allow an app through firewall.
  3. Look for and select ‘newworld.exe’ in the list of installed apps.
  4. Select OK.

Once added, try relaunching the Game again and confirm you are able to play without error.

Thanks for the canned response! but i’m definitely not going to reinstall the game for a connectivity bug that happens every couple days.

Please pass this issue along to the dev team.

Again, you just need to keep clicking the “Play” button, then eventually it will let you through. Took about 5-6 tries last time. I COULD try all of the suggestions above, but I’d be wasting my time. Just annoying really.

Don’t know if this works for you, but maybe you wanna try:

Try to delete these folders:

C:\Users\AppData\Roaming\AGS
C:\Users\AppData\Local\AGS

But be careful: if you delete the folders, all self-made settings will be deleted and replaced by the default settings.

No guarantee but maybe it helps.

Hope you are doing well.

I am sorry to know that you are having difficulties login into the game.

Since you are facing this issue with NW and not with any other games, I would suggest you to reinstall the game and check as reinstalling helps installing the game again in one sequence if it had multiple updates applied to it.

If you have already tried all the troubleshooting steps provided by my peer @Wura in his above post, I would request you to please contact our live mediums here Contact Us | Amazon Games so that they can escalate this by creating a ticket to the Dev team and help you with a resolution.

Be sure to have your game logs & Dxdiag report ready in case they ask for them.

  • Provide recent 3 logs from: Users\AppData\Local\AGS\New World\LogBackups
  • DxDiag report: Go to Windows Start search bar and type dxdiag. Click on dxdiag.exe. When green progress bar goes away, select Save All Information and save the file to their desktop.

There many other topics made or commented by players with the same problem, reinstalling doesn’t help. I provided logs twice or three times and nobody from support were interested to make anything after.

When will somebody in AGS do something with those connection errors? Often it takes really 1 hour of clicking error messages to get into game. And between them - another session error or UI error after log in which doesn’t allow you to play and you need to relog and restart clicking. Try imagine that. I wonder how many people just stopped playing because of that. It lasts several month now.

same issue since patch, cant get into game. Did all the lame “fixes” which are just silly standard things. My net is FINE. ALL other games play with NO ISSUES. Only New World. Not a very good welcome to a game for sure.

Ok, first of all deleting the game is a stupid fix. The error is happening on 2 different PC’s so I highly doubt its corrupted files of any sort. besides that the download is huge and thats a big ask for something that “may” work?
Admit your game is buggy and look into what the actual issues could be perhaps?

That email normally gives an automated reply to the customers, but our agents use it because they are able to check the email and get the files requested. I do recommend you to contact live support one more time just to make sure that they received the email that you sent.

There is clearly some stability issues on AGSs’ side…can we get some accountability and stop suggesting users uninstall and reinstall their game?

Your patch and game is causing this…have them upload their own files.

@aePixie I contacted them, provided them files and they told me that the team is aware of the issue and they are working on it and I need to stay patient and wait for solution.
Imagine my patience having issues logging taking 30 min or 1 hour for like several months. And my friends waiting for me to log.

So now can you please get in touch with technical team and give some status?
I bet a lot of people just stopped playing if they can’t log in. I wouldn’t log anymore in the game, but my friends are still playing it.

PLEASE GIVE SOME UPDATE, ETA OR HOPE
