It seems that my logitech g502 hero mouse’s DPI (or the whole function) is no longer recognized by new world. I understand that they want to prevent afk or other exploits through the mouse’s macro. However, even the DPI is not working and there’s no way to reduce the sensitivity in-game, especially when interactiing with the inventory, maps, etc… using the mouse and not just the character’s camera movement.
Hello @drisradney
First than anything welcome to the forums!
Would you be kind to tell me if the mouse is being recognized properly on other games?
On top of that can you go to the setting and on the key binding reset them to the default, just in case.
Thanks for replying. Yes, the mouse is recognized in other games. Are you referring to the in-game settings of new world or the mouse’s app (logitech G hub)?
If the mouse’s app, yes I have already tried it as well. I also just tried resetting the settings in-game and it doesn’t work. The only thing annoying is the in-game mouse sensitivity as it doesn’t match the one I have set on my mouse’s DPI which is just 800.
Changing the camera sensitivity isn’t an option for me as I needed the one when the mouse appears when interacting with the inventory, and map.
Yeah, I’m talking about the in-game settings, That would indeed be pretty odd, problem is that for this kind of issue at the most I can recommend you trying to install the drivers for the mouse again or try maybe with another one laying around on the house to get a better idea of what might be going on.
To piggy back on this I am having the same issue, My mouse logitec mouse is working fine in all other software excpet NW , and is makeing combat near impossible . I am on a labtop and the touch pad is working fine, but the mouse is now maybe half speed of my normal play
Hi,
The same issue is happening with me and my Logitech G502. Two days ago I played New World normally without any issues. Now, every time I change screens my mouse profile changes including its DPI. Example:
I’m in Chrome at the moment and my profile is set to normal
Change to New World - modifies the profile and DPI
Hello, i am not having the exact issue with dpi, I am however gonna piggy back off this as its concerning a Logitech mouse, I have a G604 (6 side buttons for mmos) That New World specifically doesn’t play well with. I like to swap the 1-6 buttons to my side buttons on the mouse for comfortable quickslots and I assign the auto run on one of those too. None of the key-bindings will work for it, no macros, just a simple key assignment. I know it might seems like a minor issue but it very much takes any motivation to play the game away if I cant adjust the controls to my liking since I buy my gaming stuff with specific setups in mind
Just realized my color schemes for keyboard/headphone stand goes to ugly default rainbows. ONLY when New world is the program on my screen. G915 aint cheap, dont feel cheap and yet it looks like some 40 dollar keyboard you’d pick off a walmart
i just started having the same issue. Not sure how to fix it permanently but if you turn on persistent profile and set it to whatever you want to use, it seems to work while in New World. I could even keep changing profiles while in New World once i got it to work using persistent profile. However, if i tab out then go back into NW, the GHub profiles would all stop working again until i go back and manually set up the persistent profile(since changing profile disables it)
Same here with Logitech G 305.
When the Full Screen Game is active, the DPI is veery low. At the moment I switch to a different window I’m back to my normal settings
Same issue here but I have some fixes, but the real fix needs to happen with the devs.
I use a G502 HERO with Windows 10 mouse slider one click from the left and a DPI of 17100 in the GHUB settings.
The in-game slider stops at 10. Why? I want the slider to go down to 3 but I have to use a config file change to do it.
In the path: %APPDATA%\AGS\New World\savedata\
edit the file: usersettings.javsave with Notepad++
I changed the setting: “m_cameraSensitivityMultiplier” value=“0.0100000” to “m_cameraSensitivityMultiplier” value=“0.0030000”
This effectively is the same as sliding the slider to 3. Odd thing is that New World resets this config file setting if I tab out of the game to another window. I had to make my usersettings.javsave file read only and have to unlock it if I want to change any setting and then relock it or the mouse setting resets.
Please stop whatever mechanic is defaulting this value.
Edit: What I anticipate is some sort of anti-cheat measure, the game removed my read only flag and changed the file again. I’m now trying to set the entire folder read only and adding m_cameraSensitivityMultiplier=0.0030000 to my user_preload_settings.cfg file one level above the directory. This mouse control issue is an absolute nightmare and it should not be.
Edit#2: Nothing I’ve tried has worked past an hour because when you alt-tab out of the game, the file recreates itself from a default version. I even disabled inheritance, created a new admin account and changed the owner of the file and removed all other users from write/modify including system and it just created the file over top of itself. I might create a scheduled task that over-writes the file every second with an edited file but I have little hope it’ll work because when the sense changes in game, it never goes back when I edit the file, requires a logout and log back in. I might look for the default version of the file in the game files and edit that one. Has to be copied from somewhere.
Maybe this will help. I forgot that Logitech stopped using LGS, so I uninstalled it, and uninstalled GHub. Restarted. Installed Only GHub. Changed my default to my preferences. When I started to select new world profile, it asked if I wanted my profile persistent across everything or not, of course I do, so I canceled it, leaving my default doing its job. Went back into the game, and its fine now.
