Look how they massacred my boy

Finally end to that Lost guy with bone club and his stagger attacks

As long are not nerfed dumbed ones sure. But if want them that way, a walk in the park with all the benefits from a group content, then no.

Let me say, after playing on the ptr, they really nerfed the bears, a bit to much IMO. They are only slightly tough if you are several levels underlevel or woefully undergeared. Even then they aren’t the challenge they should be.

They should be TOUGH when Solo and properly geared/levelled. Like you manage but have 10% health, no stamina, potted and ate at least once if not twice or more.

What have they done to Gren?
It’s been a timeless tradition to get eaten alive by him when leveling and then return for revenge when properly ranked and suited.

So, they should have gotten a massive, massive buff is what you are asking for :stuck_out_tongue:.

finally figuring out how to solo gren as a melee was a super fun memory, and I’m certainly against nerfing open world mobs, but also when was the last time you bothered fighting a bear honestly?

these changes are for new players, for better or worse (worse imo, but w/e)

not going to affect me personally, at least not in the short term. long term, who the fuck knows when it comes to this game?

I honestly wouldn’t mind the changes at all if they had buffed higher level open world mobs while they were at it.

Seriously. This was the one mob that felt like it should. A gigantic bear is going to fuck you the fuck up unless youve got a .50 bmg machinegune (not a single shot rifle, an autocannon.)

And no i dont mean a grizzly or a polar bear, this games bears look quite a bit larger than those.

I love your thread about combat and agree on all stuff except one and it is lethal to be honest and it feels like you are doing same mistake to address the issue like how you think AGS do these.

They are not removing stagger just because old players feel like they are gain power in time. It is just because to be able to gain new money spenders. It is all about new players, not for people who already bought this game.

This is being dishonest to existing consumers and sad part is, this costs loyalty to them. The game they sold to you and the game they sold to a guy who buys it today completely different games by how their core mechanics are changed in time and AGS already wants this because B2P business model forced this. If it is a p2p MMO these changes would happen in a longer term but they act quick because they lost a lot of players before a p2p MMO would be able to use in that period. We are in the decision-making season for Gaming World so they must act quick to get their slice of the pie. It will be decided on how big their slice will be.

Look at how they throw everything at the same time to gain users.
-Stagger/grit mechanics
-New main content drop
-FSS
-Territory changes

They simply don’t care who are already playing because of this business model. Another sad part is, it seems like they are losing their loyal (if there is one) future spenders when they decided on release a paid expansion but these decisions lock them to same circle and they will need more new players to fill in so they will keep making the game easier to easier to be able to gain new users to reach all audiences which we all saw how games did that before and died.

Truth is, MMO survivability as a genre lies under business model and p2p is the most sufficient one but p2p business model doesn’t suit gaming world anymore which is why most of MMOs keep failing at the first place.

So it is a conflicting issue in its base itself and it is inevitable to disappear in time; any MMO which chooses another model than p2p have to get easier in time to be able to reach bigger audience but they will lose more players with getting easier. You sold hardest version- hardest people buy, then changed into harder - hardest people left, harder people buy, then changed into hard - harder people left, hard people buy. Same process keep going until the game become p2w and die.

I have to agree, it’s obvious and utterly predictable that they would make changes like this in the hopes of bringing in new players by appealing to a broader audience.

That’s when you call the BRS.

It’s like the A-team in real life, but better.

:joy: I love it!!!
The pain is real. Glad that there is help on hand.

Damned if you do, damned if you don’t. If the game were truly 100% skill based, then a massive percentage of players would get facerolled by a very small percentage of highly skilled players until the vast majority of players leave as they will never be able to win, leaving a small amount of skilled players to face off against one another until they, too, get bored and leave.
Orrrrrrrrr, you nerf everything until its so easy that anyone could play well and get top tier endgame loot, out pace the content drip, get bored and leave.
What can you do?

You Just forgot that The only good thing on The game was The combat, this game dont have a good pve or lore, removing The combat nothing is left

even combat being good is debatable these days, it’s better than usual tab target in mmos but that isn’t really saying much

Please don’t nerf pve content! Every other game is a face roll, especially during the leveling process, and this game was a breath of fresh air!

This is supposed to be an island with danger around every corner. Where death is a constant, where you learn from your mistakes!

Changes like this are a sad precedent to making the game feeling overly casual and easy.

Please make PVE more challenging and combat more thrilling as a result. Pressing 1, 1, 1, 1, 1, 1 mob dies without any need to dodge, switch weapons or reposition otherwise you could potentially die, is overly easy.

Papa Bear was such a legendary challenge I remember! Sad seeing this nerf

WHAT? Original launch bears were perfect. I was so happy that there was a mob that took me a couple attempts to figure out how to take down and actually killed me a couple times. Those bears in the … creepy zone, whatever it’s called with all the high mountains and the quest where you had to go to all the painting locations. Then they nerfed them and I was sad that the game was becoming so terribly easy. But THIS? This is just ridiculous.

You know not everyone who plays NW is a giant toddler smashing a keyboard. Some of us like challenge in our games.

Making a difficulty setting in the menu will solve this “the game is too easy” problem
