Looking for advice for Current Depths Mutation on CoS

Howdy all,

I am looking for advice on group makeup and tactics for the current CoS depths mutation on level 10. My rather capable crew of m10 runners had big issues last night with this specific mutation combo on Depths and we got stuck at the priest and quit after about an hour of trying various tactics. We have completed this before with other mutations but are struggling on this weeks variation. Any advice is appreciated!

Thanks in advance.

ignore the dogos, dps it down

we got gold last night by running 2 heavy + 1 med bruiser, 2 of us had greataxes, 1 spear, 1 hammer, the medium was dex spear/bow combo. We were able to sustain the fire just fine while doing big pulls. the greataxes were great at keeping the clumps together. Grit also helps alot because when it’s active you don’t get pushed back by the explosive mobs, also the explosions deal damage to the mobs as well and when they are clumped together they die quickly.

reap is also good to run on a gaxe because you can pull the archers into the clumps

We completed it when it was Hellfire/Frenzied last time in under 30mins by running a Light Paladin(MT/OH) with 250 str, 200 foc, 66 con alongside a dedicated Heals (VG/LS) and 3 DPS, since the Paladin runs Sacred, Splash, Orb, and the MH runs Sacred, Beacon, Divine. At Priests, we send the Paladin and one DPS to one side, and the Healer and 2 DPS to the other side. The Paladin heals themselves and their DPS, and the Healer heals themselves and their DPS. We burn the dogs in mid before anyone goes to their side.

For Thorpe, because you cannot tank him in light armor (IT IS NOT POSSIBLE THANKS AGS FOR TESTING IT /s). the Paladin (me) throws on Heavy Armor/Tower for Thorpe. Generally, I run Sword+Expedition Captain set with my Lifestaff on Thorpe. Heavy Healing is pathetic, given that a Sacred Ground at 150 Focus will heal for a Paltry 300 or so, so you just use the Orb/Sacred as Fortify/Regen-Potion-Like HoTs for teammates/yourself, or ignore that you have a secondary weapon and just tank it the normal way, because it’s Thorpe and AGS decided he needed to be insanely-overtuned, “because Thorpe.”

Thanks for the advice\videos @Skyelighter @Trufitus

This is why I love this game, there is always multiple ways to approach the challenges.

Keep the strategies coming everyone! I love to see the creative ways players overcome the challenges of these mutated expeditions!
