Looking for advice on defeating Minos the Bull

So I’ve really been struggling with how to defeat Minos the Bull for several months now. It’s an earlier quest in BS. I could never take him out with my main combo [bow/great sword (light armor)] so I switched to just great sword with all heavy armor. Still no luck. He has so many adds around him they all gang up and it’s normally like six vs. one. I’ve tried using my bow to pull out minor mobs but after the outermost ones are cleared out, one shot to any others brings them all running. I normally approach his lair from the long stairs along the cliff, which helps me 1:1 minor mobs. Is this quest fight really meant to be 5 or 6 mobs vs. 1 player? That seems unreasonable. Or, am I missing something? Thanks for any advice.

Minos is lvl 62, his butcher friend is lvl 61. There are other lvl 60 ranged (poison) and melee mobs which gang up as well. Gear score on my main combo is 603 but when I drop all that and shift to just heavy armor it drops to about 580. I’m thinking this fight is more about technique than gear.

I know there are many out there who can beat this guy blindfolded, but we’re not all at that skill level yet. Honestly, I think a light-armored archer can only go so far in this game.

I was able to beat him with light healing gear with ward. Voidblade + Lifestaff
took some time, and patience but you can do it if you play around it right.

Thanks adorainee. I went back this afternoon after posting and beat him - with a friend’s help this time. Lesson learned for me = don’t try to do it all yourself, ask for help
