Looking forward for PVP arena. Suggestions

Yeah, then ranked could be use your own gear.

As far as unstoppable comp? Highly likely due to the game being fresh. Balancing buffs specifically for PvP Arena would be a thing. Can’t buff/Nerf globally to balance 5v5 3v3 and so forth. Hence developers changing pre set gear for each role. Just queue up your two weapons and there’s preset builds chosen by developers.

True, I guess a flat even playing field ranked or casual would be good. Plus if you thought of going healer you could test it out in a casual PvP Arena.

It really would come down to skill rather than tougher grinder.

I like all the OPs suggestions for adding arenas and the OPR scoring system.

I’d also suggest adding more content for OW PvP though as it has the potential to be great if some effort was put into it. There’s a beautiful world but it’s bare of any action. Add some PvP events such as caravan supplies for example. Add more points of interest or control points to battle over. Breathe some life into the open world, give players a reason to be out there fighting each other.

Something like PvP world events?

Absolutely.

Players could be notified of events taking place somewhere in the world which would attract the player base to specific areas to clash over.

Random capture points once every two hours that would reward an OPR gypsum and PvP faction tokens about a PvP timer distance from a random shrine?

Addition: I guess add gold. Or steal from territories treasure, like 150 a player that contributes. Have it spawn more likely in higher income territories.

Gypsum time gated obviously.

Its really important imo that you add 1v1,2v2,3v3 and 5v5 as the staples imo and somehow lifestaff cant be the same as its current state especially in 1v1 and 2v2. Maybe just adding something like all heavy attacks and abilities in the arena dampen healing. Youre devs said it the best, small scale pvp is the best part about this game and really needs a ton of focus. Ranked arena is so simple and thats why it is so good please dont innovate on it too much or it will just not be as good as it couldve been. thanks

If they do preset gear you could have certain weapon set ups with healing reduction and THEY could become staples. In 1v1 or 2v2 you could ban healers honestly.

In 3v3 and up you could have hatchet people have reduced healing perk due to rending throw and disease or even fire staff, put that perk on fire staff users so it would become a staple.

1 healer, 1 healing reduction and 1 bruiser could be one 3v3 set up while 2 ranged and a CC tank with WH and Spear could have enough damage to one shot the backline healer.

This is the epitome of PvP Arena. The comps.

your gear should count somehow. otherwise pve will be useless and pvp arena will be like playing Tekken!
Arena should match players with the same level / average gear score instead.
In this way pve progression will be related with pvp.

Let people choose a role they want to play, before they start the queue?
Many games have this.

And there should be a punishment, when someone chooses healer (propably for shorter queue) and then goes on to play dd.

Ummm… what’s the reward?

I don’t think a PvP arena is a terrible idea, but I don’t think you would see more than 5% of players doing it. IMO the time and money would be better spent on improvements and updates to the main game mode, which 100% of players take part in.

It’s already possible to do 1v1 - 5v5 in open world anywhere instantly.

Actually i believe this can be fixed but it also would require a much needed addition to the game called “wardrobe” or “gear sets”. I honestly believe the inventory system needs a re-work as of now i play mulitple builds and i find it a extreme pain to switch my armor back and forth.

If you implement a way to have pre-saved gear sets that can be swapped with a click of a button, this would lead to my example of a fix. When you que for OPR per say theres a prompt that asks you to pick 2 of three classes, Eaither tank, healer or dps. Now when the game mode is collecting data from the que it should balance a team to have so many of each. Now when the game has enough bodies for a match you are now selected on your determined choice.
(ex:5 tank classes (anyone using sword and board) 5 healers (anyone using life staff) and 10 dps).

I understand sword and shield is tricky cuz S/B and spear is a popular class right now as dps so maby confining this to just identifying healers is the easiest route. But with that said…

Example: I pick Dps and healer. It was decided that i am needed as Dps but i have my healer set on As i load in life staff should be locked to me and all avaible dps weapons should be available and this would be made easy if i could swap my gear set to dps from healer.

Also maby consider respec costs being dropped in OPR lobby and maby extend the wait time a little bit to account for the spec change. Obviously im just spitballing here but there is deff ideas to be had.

Also to touch on world pvp, i find it almost asanine that killing lvl 60 players drops like 500-510 gear score items, i understand worst case scenario is people just letting each other kill each other for rewards but you can fix that by making it so only the first kill of a person lvl 60 of the day drops reward, But if you make it so killing a enemy faction player drops 580-600 gs items and even the possible legendary would invigorate the world pvp scene.

Also making it so a certain amount of tokens could be awarded per kill and add certain items in the faction shop to buy with them would be awesome. Also adding a sort of bounty system would be cool you could check in to your town board and see a list of names of high value targets.

ex: someone is dominating in world pvp so they get a temp damage boost at the same time also increased damage against that player. Players who kill that player are rewarded a decent amount of coin aka like 300 gold.

I really wanna see 1v1, 2v2, 3v3, 5v5 arenas happen.

  • Only allowed one health pot per round.
  • best of 5 rounds wins.
  • It’s ranked.
  • There will be a monthly board viewable to every settlement that shows let’s say the top 10 from each category.
An added plus would be to make it regional rather then just server wide. IE NA West battles all the servers in NA West.

Rewards would include:

  • title with your rank
  • Cosmetics for the higher ranks.
  • If you win the match you get a loot box similar to OPR.

I’m not sure why AGS hasn’t gone this route already. It screams twitch views (they own twitch so more money for them). As well as a possible esport stuff. For the players this would bring a larger playerbase and more attention which means more attention to making content. This would also make it much easier for them to balance the game.

I can’t imagine a world where they aren’t already working on it,
I just hope they aren’t trying to rush it out and do it right.

Regionwide/Server Set Wide would be so awesome.

For Arenas:

  • Classic 2vs2, 3vs3 and 5vs5
  • Also 1vs1, please :pray:t2:

For 1vs1 (but it applies for all the other modes) We don’t need the classes to be balanced, people will scream, people will create content with how bad X is, it doesn’t really matter, it’s fun, and I really believe this is the single most important feature for those loving pvp. People will adapt to the meta as in any other game.

  • Capture the SHIP.
Yes, enough with flags, Aeternum is a world of pirates, there is a ship, two teams wants to get it, one wants to defend it, one wants to conquer it. Similar fashion to OPR but only for 10vs10 (available if 14 people queued up). Similar to “Plant the bomb” in shooters, but in this case the team needs to hold the helm of the boat for X seconds.

Then on top of that, for Open PvP:

  • Introduce a bounty system so that we know which faction is the one doing more kills in each territory, potentially which person later, but let’s start from factions and guilds. This will be counted weekly.

Imagine the potential this can have when you start thinking about the lore of each server, in each town there would be an NPC telling us the story of the greatest fighters, from the current to the past, so that we can check which guild is doing better, or which faction, and then in the future perhaps which person as well. Imagine if we could also know all previous owners of Everfall.

This will bring a ton of value, and it will start to gear territories towards the story that people create in them, really big in terms of achievements to always be able to login, and look back in page 73 and find your guild (or perhaps yourself??) as the top killer of that territory for that week. The story of the server knows about you forever, Morningdale remembers.

For both systems, the rewards of these features should be a new set of tokens that allow us to purchase gear fully oriented towards PvP (perhaps the existing faction tokens but with newer items). We should also be able to achieve in game cosmetics such as furniture, skins, and maybe mounts in the future. Definitely outdoor pvp should bring the biggest reward in terms of tokens, as it’s harder to find people outdoors + the incentive of becoming the top bounty hunter of that region could be huge. If anything think about it.

Please consider Ranked mode as well. We know is going to get toxic, that’s the nature of gaming, but at the same time it will push pvpers to stay, it will push people to get better, casuals to have fun and try, it can only bring wins in the long run even if it’s scary.

Thanks for reading so far, and thanks for keeping an eye in the post.

If they make it server set wide, why not give us the option to bounce between server set worlds? Have one home server set and other worlds are no trade, no gathering, only certain things like OPR, invasions, dungeons and corruption portals doable. Instead of a queue, the server set people can designate a server for opr, invasions portals and dungeons but can’t tamper with economy and faction control. Or fuck it. Unleash it all. Lmao.

@Willard Thank you for responding, it means a lot to hear from leaders in the community.
