do loot luck pearls addon to 2.8% luck gear, or does it override and just give the pearl luck of 0.5. can it stack?

Also welcome to the forums, I am happy to have you here! 
I understand your question, and basically yes it will stack, if you have all of your gear with pristine pearls, it will add 0,5% of luck/chance at rare items from chests and monsters. Just in case here is a post explaining a little more about luck but doesn’t mention specifically the pristine pearls. [Dev Blog] Update on Current Issues #2 .
