There can be 2.000.000 players playing LA, but this game is old and looks like shit… sorry, but i will not play it. I am sticking to New World for now, since the game is only 3 months old…, will wait another 1/2 - 1 year and then see… if there will be no players ill get back to ESO.
But to each his own, if you like LA, play LA, but there is no point writing here you play LA and that NW will die because of it… it will not. This makes you look like a 3 year old who does not know what to do…

Tried LA - I guess I don’t get the hype. Meh.
Two completely different games. I watched some streams, and there’s a lot of hype around it, but that style of game does not appeal to me.
Having said that, the same thing happened to New World. Remember the end of September when there were almost a million players and some servers were seeing a 10 hour server queue? A mere 4.5 months ago
So, yeah, whatever happens with Lost Ark will have no bearing on New World. New World will die on its own for a million other reasons having to do with poor game design.
Have you never played a game when another “popular” game got released?
Seriously… go check any other game forum and you’ll see the same posts.
And when the next “popular” game is releasing after that, go check Lost Ark forums, and you’ll see the same thing.

NW won’t die because of Lost Ark. It will die because of the numerous poor game design decisions which had led it to lose 95% of it’s original player-base in less than 5 months.
It is possible though to revert this but NW has to go again some of the fundamental game design decisions they have made, such as heavily relying on time-gated content and excluding the large majority of the playerbase from the main type of PvP (Wars) and making Invasions some sort of instanced crap instead of a real threat in the open world.
Will they revert any of that? Highly unlikely.
Never played an MMO which has lost 95% of its playerbase in less than 5 months, and still dropping, so no. Lost Ark and GW expansion release will take a chunk of the remaining 5% left.
Lol. No. It has overwhelmingly positive reviews on Steam where as NW has mixed.
Most people today don’t play games because they’re fun, they play because their beloved favorite streamer / YouTube is hyping it. So they have to check the players numbers e everyday to find validation on their own gameplay, otherwise the game is dying and isn’t fun anymore lol

It will target not the whole player base - but people that are interested in arena gameplay and dont care about the different view-perspective will leave until New world will have pvp related small scale content with a ladder.
Currently there is no pvp competition apart from wars - and even wars do not have comparable leaderboards.
The game offers nothing to compete - lost ark got a solid base for that area at least in small scale pvp.
Yesterday we played 2 wars on one of the biggest EU servers and majority of players that are heavy into NW where playing lost ark cause of the lack of pvp content and content overall.
Not sure if the dev team can add enough content to drive players back, if you listen to the twitch streamers that supported new world heavily, they all now play lost ark and clearly mention in the streams that this game is unfinished and got no relevant content for their viewerbase after 1 month.
No content creator - no public marketing from streamers… viewercount will drop.
Just sad - dont wanted to see another amazon game fall apart… was also a big fan of crucible - and I see the exact same product decision failures there too. Looks like their BI-department lacks the understanding of how to connect to the player bases requirements.

Yep, this is why I am considering leaving for Lost Ark. Lack of endgame content and time-gates for the meager endgame content which exists, is not fun.

Dunno LAO did not shock even after my few hours gameplay, typical grind game, very easy nothing to do till 50 lvl. Characters are balanced, the biggest problem for me is that I cant change my class from dps to healer or tank when I want… this is stupid.
No hate but just my first impression with Lost Ark. It was like playing Elyon only top down view. From prologue, to lvl via questing and then the dungeon system. Did not reach end game but its kinda just like Bless unleashed too.
This is how different the games are, when i logged into Ark today for the 2nd day I was gifted 20,000 silver free for simply logging in, because they understand ITS A VIDEO GAME.

You can simutaneusly wear jacket and cowboy hat, but rather not play 2 grindy games. Different genres but same players.
It’s nothing common with new world. New world playerbase who dropped new world are next gamers:
Who temporarily abandoned to play the games
Who switched back to their more stable MMORPG games e.g. WoW, Lineage2, ArcheAge, BDO
Who play single RPG games casually e.g. CP2077/Witcher3/GTA V/Mass Effect/Skyrim and so on
Lost Arc is rather for those people who love Diablo + Asian setting

NW has nothing to fear from LA - apples and oranges AFAIC. AGS just needs to tighten up the shot group in NW stat.

Everyone follows the hype on every game release. Lost ark sucks though. Played Beta and the game is just dog. Pay to win. You can pay and get a max level player from the company. Unless you love to grind for the next 2 years, this ain’t it. Another place holder.
